Who is Rhonda Parker?


Rhonda is a 32-year-old singer-musician-songwriter. She was born and raised in Sumter, S.C., graduated from Sumter High School, where she studied music and was a member of the Sumter High School Band. She studied music at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, and currently is Sr. Branch Office Administrator for Edward Jones Investments in Lexington, S.C. She is married to Eddie Parker; they live in West Columbia, S.C., with their beloved dog, Abby.
She is a devout Christian who loves the Lord with all of her heart and might, and wants to share her ministry and her love for Christ with others. She, and those closest to her, feel she has a gift to do that with her music.

What is Rhonda's music background?


Rhonda is Worship Leader for the Chapel of Redemption, a non-denominational church in Lexington, S.C. She is responsible for all of the Music Ministry; she sings and plays keyboard and drums and leads the Praise Band. She selects all of the music for the church, produces all of the music programs, and is responsible for all of the musicians.
She has played in many bands over the years, and has performed all over the Southeast.
She is a gifted songwriter-composer. She has written well over 100 songs. Some of her original compositions have been featured in church services and elsewhere. She currently is working on producing her first CD of original work.

What instruments does Rhonda play?


Perhaps her best, her voice.
She vocalizes everything from beautiful ballads to gutsy blues.

What are some of Rhonda's accomplishments so far?


Wrote, produced, and performed commercial for Lexington business that has been used in the Columbia radio market for over 5 years now.
Has been asked to perform for several civic organizations in the Greater Columbia area.
Was asked by the city of Columbia to sing the National Anthem for The 2001 Governor's Marathon.
Performed as the "female Elvis" during Elvis Appreciation Weekend sponsored by the Sumter Council of the Arts.
Was asked by City of Sumter to be one of 10 special drummers to perform on a float in 2002 & 2003 Sumter Christmas Parade.
