| who caught the show last night? | I did! But, honestly, I'm a little disappointed. Not in Jump5, but in Nickelodeon. Did anyone else notice that they were the only group who didn't sing an entire song? And Raven got most of the camera shots in Joy to the World, anyways. I know they're not the BIGGEST headliners, but still... I guess I was just expecting more. But I thought they all looked really good! We can't wait til Monday, for the Bourbonnais, IL concert!!! | j5 holiday happenings | Hey! Susan here to getcha some info 'bout the fab five you may not have heard. First, Jump5 will not be performing in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade tomorrow, but I would still tune in because some great artists will be there, like Stacie Orrico. However they will appear in the Walt Disney World Christmas Day parade again on December 25, like last year when they performed Beauty & the Beast. And don't forget about the Nick@Nite special! We'll most likely have some screen caps up this weekend. | we went wild yesterday | Yesterday was the double concert at the Indianapolis Zoo and it was, well, wild! (Get it? Hehehe!) Unfortunately, it was still Jump4, but it was so much fun! We were front row for both concerts and the dolphin show, and we got Radio Disney backstage passes!!! We also had fun getting to know some of the other fans out in Indy, and we gave out over 50 Jump5 tattoos, and a handful of magnets! We'll post pictures soon! ---added 09_07_03

| lesley update | "notes from the tour bus" I wanted to take a moment to let you know what we’re up to these days. Yesterday, we celebrated Jump5 Christmas on the bus. We all exchanged presents with each other and sat in circle. Each of us took a moment to open one present and then move on to the next person. We made sure to go nice and slow… because this was just the beginning of an 18 hour bus ride – haha! It was really cool, I got clothes, gift certificates, cd’s, jewelry and jewelry boxes. After the fun, we had some school and watched a movie about Japan. Then, we watched the desert go by… and by… and by! It seemed like the Christmas Tour just started, but now it’s almost over. We want to thank all of you for coming out to see us. After Sunday, we’ll be headed back home to share Christmas with our families. | jump5 accelerate review | "read the latest review from jesusfreakhideout.com" Ever since they began in 2001, the quintet has been flirting along the line of being a “Christian” band. While having a positive message and some God-centered lyrics, they have easily become a crossover group, pleasing both Christian and secular audiences. With this album, they’re once again tip-toeing on the edge of Christian music. In the past, almost every Jump5 song has been dedicated to hip dance grooves, but for Accelerate, things have almost turned a little more towards pop/rock sound. | chris update | "celebrating mickey: 75 inspEARations" Hey everyone! A little while back we were all asked by Disney to design a Mickey Mouse for his 75th Anniversary. I logged on to the website with their instructions for Celebrate Mickey: 75 InspEARations. I designed 3 different varieties of Mickey Mouse, including one that featured a balloon in his hand and one with a party hat. I didn’t think they’d pick mine at all and was surprised when they announced that they chose my Let’s Party Mickey. They turned my little design into a 6 foot statute (that is REALLY heavy) and unveiled it with 74 others last Tuesday at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. They’ll be on display until April 2004. I’m looking forward to heading down to Florida with my family to see my creation face-to-face. I think it will be really cool to get a picture with it. The statues will then head off to Philadelphia, Boston, Atlanta, Minneapolis, Chicago, Denver, Kansas City, Houston, Dallas, Portland, Disneyland, Washington D.C. and New York City. After the tour, sometime in 2005, my Let’s Party Mickey will go up for auction with the proceeds benefiting my favorite charity, the Make-A-Wish® Foundation. | libby update | "practicing for the christmas tour" Hi! We’ve spent this week getting ready for our Christmas tour, and you’d never believe how much we’ve forgotten since last year. To help us in rehearsing the dances for our holiday songs, we’ve had to pull out old home videos. Yeah, we’ve been watching some videos from last year’s Christmas tour saying, "oh how could we forget that?". Don’t worry though, we’ve been practicing everyday from 2-8pm. We’ll be performing songs from All The Joy In The World, plus a little variety… even my favorite song to perform, Pressure. This weekend we’re off to Maryland for our last show before we change gears into the Christmas tour. Last year it was crazy in Maryland. We performed two shows back to back. | libby update | "nick at nite holiday special" Hi! Yesterday we finished taping the Nick at Night Christmas show! You’ll have to check it out on Nickelodeon – it’s gonna be cool. Here are the times it’s scheduled to air: Nick at Night Holiday Special 11/28 10pm, 12/3 11pm, 12/6 10pm, 12/12 12am, 12/16 9pm, 12/21 10pm, 12/25 9pm. We’ve had quite a bit of fun in California even though we had a hard time getting here. When we flew in on Wednesday night we had to stay in the air an extra two hours due to the storms in LA. Then we met up the next day with Release Magazine for lunch. We all got our work outs last week at the Toys R’ Us in New York with a girl named Jessie. She basically had a list of gifts and it was up to Brandon, Brittany, Chris, Lesley and me to run all over the store and fiind them for her. | lesley update | "taping Nick@Nite christmas" Today we’re off for the taping of Nick@Nite Christmas. We’re set to start at 10:00am and will be working all day until 9:00pm. Pretty crazy huh? Actually, we’ll be going back again on Saturday and doing it one more time. It’ll be fun though, we’ll get to see a lot of people we haven’t seen in awhile. Oh, and don’t forget school! They actually have tutors on the set for all of us and we’ll be squeezing in a two-hour session at some point. I’m sure some of you saw our pictures from New York in the Photo Album. We had a great trip. I enjoyed meeting Jessie, who was the winner of a shopping spree with us at Toys R’ Us in Times Square. She was so precious, not only did she buy things for herself, but a bike for her Mom and sister, and gifts for her cousins. It started off with interviews from Teen People. Then it was on to PopStar, a visit with J14, Nickelodeon, US Weekly and the list goes on. It was quite hectic. I'm sure it'll take them a month or two before they hit the news stands but you can look forward to seeing us in those magazines. The night before, we passed by the studios for The Late Show with David Letterman and caught a glimpse of Will Ferrell. That was a nice surprise. Of course, the video shoot, at The Standard Hotel in downtown Los Angeles, was not without some “incidents.” 17 year-old good sport Chris Fedun braved the entire dance-heavy day with a badly sprained ankle, and then, while jumping into the pool to celebrate the completion of filming, he accidentally kicked band mate Libby Hodges in the mouth! Yikes, two down and three to go…We’re happy to report that Jump5 has fully mended and is back in action, with several concerts planned for this month, including a Las Vegas show on Halloween. | jump5 wraps up "do ya" video | "the video is complete after one sprained ankle and some unscripted pool acrobatics" Jump5 recently spent what turned out to be a very lively and physical day at The Standard Hotel in downtown LA while filming the video for “Do Ya’”, from their October 7 release, Accelerate. Chris Fedun of Jump5 navigated the entire video shoot sporting a badly sprained ankle, and the commotion didn’t end there! After a long day of filming, while the camera’s were rolling, Jump5 pushed Chris into the pool and he accidentally kicked Libby Hodges (Jump5) in the mouth. | brittany update | "do ya" Wow – since my last update it’s been a blur. A lot has happened since my birthday, although there are some great things just starting to happen. The biggest is with our new single “Do Ya." Some of you were lucky enough to hear it featured during our set this summer. If I remember right, we debuted it live in Syracuse, NY. The more and more we performed, the better it got. Some of my favorite memories from the summer tour were hearing the crowd sing along to “Do Ya” in Milwaukee and St. Paul – that was really cool. For those of you that didn’t get to hear it live, you should be able to hear it soon on the radio. Over the weekend Radio Disney featured it, so I guess that means you can start requesting it. You can also check it out on our new album “Accelerate” which comes out in less than one month! Are you excited? If I remember correctly we paused the game as I went to get some food… when I got back and unpaused the game my player had been taken out a few times. It’ll be time for our new CD “Accelerate” on October 7th and that will be a whole new chapter for us. All of us got the chance to be involved with this release more than ever before. | derek's dirt | "summer recap" Welcome to the first installment of "Derek's Dirt." This will be a section where I will share some news from the road. I hope you enjoy it! As you know, we've just returned from the Aaron Carter tour. It was such a blast! We got to hang with AC and rekindle friendships from last year. Also, we had the chance to get to know Stevie Brock and Greg Raposo a little bit better. Stevie, Greg (along with Greg's manager, John), Brandon (along with Brandon's dad, Greg) and I all took part in a few football games after the show. Greg is a fast one! And don't let Stevie's size fool you; he can play some mean football. While on the subject of recreation, Brandon and Chris had the opportunity to play Paintball with Aaron and his band and dancers as well as Stevie on the off day in Detroit. It was Brandon and Chris's first time and they did quite well. Rumor has it that Aaron says he "dominated." Between you and me, Brandon and Chris held their own and did quite well against AC. I personally enjoyed beating Brandon in XBOX (Ghost Recon and Halo). Even though I'm a PS2 man here at home, it was good to learn from the #1 XBOX player in the country (Brandon). Another cool thing about being on the road is meeting other artists. In Wisconsin, we had the honor of opening up for Kelly Clarkson's first headlining show. Then, in Minneapolis, we ran into Hanson backstage and got to spend some quality time with Taylor and Isaac. We had a great time getting to meet all of you on the road. We held the poster contests in most cities and we were excited to see you with some very creative posters! Keep an eye on the website, because we may do this contest again for future shows/tours. It always makes the Jump5 show better when we see our enthusiastic fans supporting us by showing their signs while we are on stage! | libby update | "the tour is almost over" Hey! Wow, the last two weeks on the road have been a lot of fun. Of course all things must come to an end and tonight is our last night on the road as part of the Aaron Carter Jukebox tour. Yesterday we performed at the Minnesota State Fair. It was so much fun to say farewell to Stevie Brock and Greg Raposo who were leaving the tour one night early. Traditionally the last night on tour is considered to be prank night. It was so much fun! I wish every night could be like this where we could just play jokes on each other. We pretended to be members of Dream Street during Greg Raposo’s set, which was hilarious. During Stevie Brock’s set we kidnapped his dancers and eventually picked Stevie up and carried him away during his last song. Here’s a picture of us getting on a stage cart used for moving the lights with Aaron Carter (green hoodie) and Greg Raposo. We hopped on it during Stevie’s set and Greg and Brandon pushed us across the stage as we waved to the crowd. | lesley update | "update on my condition" Hey guys!! I thought that it might be a good time to update you on how I'm feeling and what the doctor has to say about my condition. Personally, I think I am ready to get back on the road, but the doctors won't agree with me. I have to go to the doctor every week to get my blood drawn. I think I have gotten it drawn at least 6 times since I became sick. You should see the bruises on my arms from where they drew my blood. By the time one bruise goes away, I get my blood drawn again and the bruise is back. I am to the point now that the doctor says I can leave the house and go to eat, and even walk around a little bit. My blood work is improving each week but still isn't enough to let me dance around and goof off on stage. I hope I will get to see you guys soon, and I'm doing everything I can to get well. Thank you guys for all the emails, cards, and what nots. They really cheered me up!!! People at the label printed every email off the computer and made them into books for me. Then they sent them to my house. It's like getting presents two or three times a week. It's really great to know how many people care. I’ve downloaded some cool rings and I can’t stop taking pictures with it. I’ve got some hilarious ones of Brandon and Chris. I’ve been able to customize my phone by adding a background screen of Betty Boop, and I also have this little green alien guy as my screensaver. The timing for this gift couldn’t be better because now that we’re touring, I’m able to stay in closer touch with my friends, and even send them snapshots of what I’m up to. | lesley update | "i'm sick!" Hey guys... it's Lesley. Some of you probably heard that I am sick...and I am. It's nothing to be worried about, but I have MONO! A lot of people have had this illness before, I'm just not allowed to be up and walking around, much less dancing, singing, and traveling. My body is very prone to infection right now so I need to stay home and rest as much as I can. The doctor said the only thing I can do is sleep a lot, eat healthy, and take vitamins. I'm trying as hard as I can to get better. I miss you guys so much. I think you should give "Jump4" a hand, because the day I got sick and went to the emergency room for a high fever, they were at rehearsal working their tails off just to put on a good show for you guys!! | brandon update | "crazy movies" Hey, We’re back to our busy schedules of life on the road, but don’t get me wrong – I wouldn’t trade it for anything. We’ll be visiting a lot of cities over the next month and I’m sure a lot of you are looking forward to it. You’ll never guess what I’ve been up to! I got my first taste of movie making with some video software on the computer. My first project I named “Crazy Monkey Mullets.” It features a picture of Chris and a title that spins and gets larger. I created the rotation effect all by myself. I never realized how cool that could be. As for my five-second movie, it was a lot of fun and I’m already planning a sequel! Our road manager Derek just told me we might be doing some sign contest at our upcoming shows, so keep checking our website for more information on that. | chris update | "i won" What’s up! You’ll never guess what I did on my time off! I actually went to the grocery store, signed up for a contest, and won! Yeah, I won a brand new grill. I’m not quite sure if I’ll have the time to use it… or even dare. Speaking of cooking, while on the road Brandon and I went out for a nice meal. I ended up ordering a burger, Brandon got a steak, and our meals came with some super spicy sauce. We dared each other to slurp it up through straws…. YUCK! I promise I will never do that again, it was so disgusting. Wednesday we had a great turn out for the Brown Bag show… unfortunately the SUN turned out too and it was extremely HOT! | brittany update | "vacation notes and more" Hey y’all! Today we’re all set for our afternoon show! It’s a special treat since we don’t get to perform close to home all that often. A lot has happened since my last post, so here’s the highlights. The family trips to Texas and Florida were awesome – yeah, baby! The waterslides were fun, and the whitewater rafting was amazing. Brandon even ended up having to rescue the people in the raft behind us. I had a close call while in the ocean. I was doing flips with my dad in the water and ended up landing face first. My lip ended up getting all swollen – oops! We just started performing again and had a bunch of shows over the last week. Ya know that little talking thing that Lesley mentioned we do sometimes? Well, on Saturday we were doing it, and out of no where I got her with a right and a left. Lol! I hope she doesn’t try to get me back! Gotta bounce! -Brittany- ---added 07_16_03
| lesley update | "live and in black and white" Hey, We’re out on a short business related trip, but I wanted to give you a quick update! This weekend we had a great time in Wisconsin. For our performance we wore our black and white outfits, although Brandon and Chris decided to wear jeans instead of the black pants. The colors were probably not the best idea for performing on a stage that had a lot dust and dirt which had blown on to it. A few of you might’ve noticed that instead of falling flat during Virtual Reality, I fell into a push-up position to avoid the dirt, ha ha! After the show we had a lot of fun meeting fans and Brittany said we signed over 650 autographs. We all grabbed a quick bite to eat and I tried Mountain Dew Code Red for the first time. Jump5 picks up the tour on July 27 in Las Vegas, performing in 17 US cities. Busy readying the release of their fourth studio album, Accelerate due out October 7, Jump5 haven’t remotely slowed down since the 2002 release of All The Time In The World, which debuted at No. 3 on Billboard’s Top Contemporary Christian Albums chart. The first single, slated for release to radio on August 1, “Why Do I Do”, is penned specifically for Jump5 by fellow label mates, ZOEgirl (Alisa Girard, Chrissy Conway and Kristin Swinford). Brandon Hargest of Jump5, also contributes one of the 10 cuts on Accelerate, with his first ever, recorded song, “All Because of You”. Accelerate also includes the popular cover of the Sister Sledge classic “We Are Family”, which is the theme song for Radio Disney’s Family Pledge Initiative. The pledge campaign, simply designed to help strengthen the family, will include massive radio promotion on Radio Disney as well as a national contest running July to October, not to mention steady rotation of “We Are Family” on Radio Disney. | libby update | "a day in wisconsin" Hey! Today we spent the day in Osh Kosh, Wisconsin as part of Lifest. The day started with a ride over to the festival where we checked in and had breakfast. We then took time to sign a t-shirt that was signed by all of the artists playing at the festival. It looked really cool. I actually ended up buying one, I liked it so much. Next we were driven to the media room where we recorded some bits for a couple of radio stations, and then did a TV interview. After that we did a short sound check and the next thing you know it’s show time. Wow – a lot of you came to see us perform! After forty five minutes in the sun we finished our set, took a short break and then went over to sign autographs. It was such a great time, although maybe next year they’ll schedule us to play on the same day as Switchfoot! -Libby- ---added 07_13_03
| brandon update | "double dose of fireworks" I’m back with a quick little update. As Libby mentioned our schedules are beginning to pick up. We spent the 4th of July in Dallas, Texas performing with Stevie Brock. After the show we all hung out to watch the amazing display of fireworks! Then on July 5th we were off to Cincinnati, Ohio to perform with Plus One and Tait, which was fun. Each time we see Justin from Tait he gives us progress reports on his tumbling skills. For some reason I get this vibe he really wants to be part of Jump5! After our show that evening we were able to watch fireworks again, except this time we got stormed on a bit.
