Biography
Mike was born in Berkeley, California on May 4, 1972. He was given up for adoption and when he was 7, his adoptive parents divorced each other. With this he went back to his biological mother, who was a heroine addict. When he was about ten, he met Billie Joe, the lead singer and guitarist of Green Day, in school. He moved away with Billie at 15 and then resided in a building of punk rockers. He did very well in high school and recieved some college education. In 1996, he got married and now has a daughter, born in '97. He has since been separated from his wife, played in the Punk Rock band Screeching Weasel and of course with Green Day.
Mike is a bassist that one cannot look over. He is very energetic and fun. All of the music he plays, simple or complex, sounds good and is fun to play. He does not hold back on stage, he just lets it all out and I think that is a vital part of being a good musician. I love listening to Green Day and the bass is one of the main reasons.
