The All-American Rejects

And here you arrive and a HUGE fan's website of the all time greatest band ever. First let me tell you a little about myself before I get lost in the Rejects. I'm April, 17 years old and from Texas. I graduated early from high school and for what? I don't know yet. I have a big variety of music I listen to, but when I heard "Swing Swing" on All Things Rock on MTV, I instantly loved it. I bought the CD right when it came out and have listened to it non-stop since then. I was also lucky enough to catch their concert in Austin and it was the most fun I have had at a show! They are just as great live as on the CD and all the other songs on the CD are just as good-better if you ask me-than "Swing Swing." I got the chance to meet Tyson and he was awesome! He seemed really into his fans and was talking to everyone and let me and my friends get a picture with him and Nick. (and yes they are just as hot in person as on TV) The songs they have on the CD are great-my favorite being Happy Endings. So here is a little on what I know of AAR. The band is from Stillwater, Oklahoma and signed onto Doghouse Records. Tyson Ritter (bass, vocals) and Nick Wheeler (instrumentalist) are the two permanent remaining band members along with the tour band, Mike Kennerty (guitar), and Chris Gaylor(drums). Originally, Nick and Tyson both played guitar and had their beginner bands in junior high. Even though they went to the same school they never really knew each other's interest in music or had thought about starting a band together. Tyson was at a party Nick's band was playing at and told them he knew had to play the bass, since they were missing a bassist. Actually, he had never touched a bass so he spent his Christmas break learning how. He then became part of the band, that slowly ended with two members-Nick and Tyson. Nick was influenced by groups like Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, and Tyson's personal favorites-AC/DC and INXS. For those who want to know, I'm not sure on birthdays but as of December 2002, Tyson is 18 and Nick is 20. Also, check out their demo song, "The Cigarette Song." It's great, too bad it's not on the CD! If anyone has more information on the band...please email me at the address below. I will be trying my best to get more info for you guys!
