ALBERTA GOSPEL MUSIC ASSOCIATION.
This web-site is currently in the middle of a MAJOR OVER-HAUL - please bear/ bare (?) with us during this period of re-construction and up-dating'.

OUR VISION AND PURPOSE: Who/ What is A.G.M.A. ? - We are a very diverse and visionary group of 'inter-denominational'/ 'inter-generational' folks, who are passionate about Gospel Music.
Our desire is:
- to promote/ present/ Gospel Music;
- to have regular FREE gatherings;
- do net-working, fellowship, etc;
- WE ARE DIFFERENT, and .......

- Based in Calgary, A.G.M.A. is registered in Alberta as a 'Non-Profit Society', and is supported soley by interested, like-minded folks.

As of mid-April 2003, our President is Garry Sylvester, formerly a Board Member; (founding President, Eddie Simon, remains on the Board as a Director); plus we are pleased to welcome 2 new board members to AGMA, Denise Hill and Kyle Elliott, adding to the depth of experience on our Board.

In spite of the BIG snowstorm - and with our regrets to those who could not be there, BECAUSE THEY WERE SNOWED-IN!! - WE had a very good attendance, and a very lively program, on Sunday afternoon, April 27. Wish 'you all' could have been there. Even ELVIS showed up! (Gospel Elvis, that is!)

- May 2003 Sunday afternoon gathering: - it was CANCELLED, so that our members and friends could enjoy the local 'Vibe Awards' at the Telus Convention Centre.

- Sunday June 22 @1:30pm - Public Concert at Cafe Sol - in the outdoor amphitheatre, weather permitting (inside, if weather is not favorable - so: Pray for good weather!)
- Sunday July 27 @1:30pm - Public Concert at Cafe Sol- in the outdoor amphitheatre, weather permitting (inside, if weather is not favorable - so: Pray for good weather!)

OUR MINISTRY TALENT: - We are being blessed with an increasing variety of good gospel musical talent. Our desire is to have new and different Musical Talent showcased at different churches, and also in other public places, in order to foster true inter-denominational fun and fellowship. Check back on this page for information on upcoming times and places, etc.
A.G.M.A. MEMBERSHIP: - A.G.M.A. Membership is open to all/ anyone who is interested in gospel music. Individual membership is $50.00 per year, and corporate, group or church membership is $100.00 per year. There are many benefits to membership, which will be posted here very soon, and which will be ever-expanding. For an application form, which you can download and print on your printer: click here
OUR CHRISTIAN NEWSPAPER: Check the 'City Light News' (CLN) Calgary and area's monthly Christian newspaper (it should be available at your local church) for up-to-date information about Christian events, etc, in Southern Alberta, or click on its web-site which offers constant updates, as AGMA is now there, starting with the May 2003 issue. CLN is a friend of AGMA.

OUR INSPIRATION: - Denis Grady: Our special thanks and gratitude go to Denis Grady - local Gospel Musician, Song-Writer and Travelling Evangelist - whose vision inspired the start-up of AGMA.
As our way of expressing our thanks to Denis - AGMA has given him a life-time membership, and is pleased to promote him here on this web-site.

City-Wide HymnTyme: NEW in 2003!! Do you enjoy 'old-time gospel music'? Check-out 'City-Wide HymnTyme' which comes to a different large Calgary church on a Sunday evening each month.
It's exciting and it's free , with an offering taken. Average attendance has been over 500 people, with a variety of performers, and vibrant congregation sing-a-long.
Oh, yes - and the rousing 'HymnTyme Band' is a joy to listen to!

A.G.M.A. WANTS YOU: Whether you are: young or old(er), a singer, song-writer, musician, promoter, recording artist, amateur, play in a band, participate in a worship team, just enjoy gospel music, musical or not (maybe you say that you 'can't carry a tune in a bucket!') - no matter - we invite your involvement and participation in AGMA; and may God bless you all.
