| As many Toploader fans will know, the band met, and formed in a pub names Sullivans on Grove Road. The were just a couple of guys who enjoyed a drink (or two!) and chatting about the important matters of women, beer and music. "We all just ended up in the same pub talking about the same subjects and going off to play in a garage," says Rob. "We just found a garage and that was it." |

Could Eastbourne's tranquility have helped inspire any of the bands songs? Did coming from a quite, seaside town ever have a positive effect on them? "It has only influenced us in as much as when we were getting started there wasn't another band around so we didn't concentrate on anybody else too much" says Joe "we just concentrated on doing our own thing" "I think if you grow up in London and you want to be in a band there's a lot of pressure on you, you have to play at this venue and that venue, whereas for us we only had one venue and that was ten miles out of town." says Dan |
