A premiere 90’s and beyond tribute band! GrooveBlender is composed of four Cleveland area musicians, Wayne Smith on lead vocals and guitar, Harry Schramm on bass, Ken Bolz on guitar, and Tony Styranka on drums. Together they have an extensive amount of experience locally and nationally in performance, promotion, and recording. Formed in early 1997, GrooveBlender set out to bring a flourishing live music scene, drawing crowds not seen on the circuit in many years. GrooveBlender saw the need to satisfy the people who had grown tired of hearing classic cover bands and began by specializing in modern alternative/rock, focusing on current popular hits from pop/rock to heavy alternative. They also made sure to involve the former top hits with those on top today. The band has headlined every show since they began playing and carry a steady following consistent at each club. Whether supplying their own system and lighting or hiring the top technicians, GrooveBlender strives to bring a tight knit aggressive sound pleasing the crowds wherever they play. As long as they keep current with the times, look for GrooveBlender to be a staple in the scene for years to come. Also, now in the works is a new side project featuring Wayne and Tony along with bassist Chris Torok of Lucid and Kevin O’Donnell who is expected to become one of the best new vocalist on the scene. Dubbed “That ‘70s Band”, they are planning the 70’s big rock tribute show to debut this spring. Look for them to perform a visually bombastic show of the real music of that era and spinning 70’s disco all night between sets for the ladies to dance to. Covering such acts as Boston, Cheap Trick, Journey, and Queen, it’s guaranteed you’ll see a show like the party you always wanted to attend. Also, all who attend either band’s shows are eligible to win a tanning membership to Tony’s salon—Southwest Tanning or a night on the town with Harry Schramm—”Your choice baby!”
