Recomendations

Christopher Golden is a wonderful writer. His books are very descriptive and hard to put down. Besides writing books based on the TV show Buffy and X-Men comics; Chris Golden is the author of two of my favourite book series. Prowlers and Body of Evidence.

Prowlers is an exciting series about a nineteen year old who can see ghosts and fights prowlers (animals kind of like werewolfs.) I won't give away any more because I don't want to spoil it but I could NOT stop reading these. Highly recommended.

Body of Evidence Series is about a collage student working as an assistant Medical Examiner. No matter where she goes a mystery follows. Christopher Golden and Rick Hautala don't hold back in the autopsy scenes so be warned. :-) Also a great read!

Other Christopher Golden books to read: The Lost Slayer Mini-series and X-Men: Codename Wolverine.

Fahrenheit 451...the temperature at which books burn is a futuristic story about censorship. Ray Bradbury describes a country where freedom of speech is nonexistent. Books are illegal frightening things and intelligence is a sin. People with new ideas disappear and buildings housing books are burned to the ground. Who destroys these homes and their works of art? Firemen. Guy Montag is a firemen that enjoys the flames. That is until he meets a girl that opens his eyes to the world and shows him that it's okay to think for himself. Now he must stand up for what's right. But how does one man rebel against an entire government?

The Harry Potter books are the best books I've ever read. Most people think they're only for kids but they are not. The books featuring a boy named Harry are exciting and are VERY hard to put down. I've read the first one five times and I never reread books! Harry Potter is about a boy wizard living in London. He lives with his cruel aunt, uncle, and cousin. Of course he doesn't know the magic he possesses until his eleventh birthday. That's when he gets taken to Hogwart's School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and away from an uncaring home. He makes friends for the first time while learning magic and saving the world from 'he who should not be named,' the evil wizard (Voldemort.) J.K. Rowling leads you on a world so imaginative you feel like your really there.

The Hobbit is a great story. The book follows around Bilbo Baggins, a Hobbit, on his adventure. Along the way him and his friends (quite a few dwarves and Gandalf the wizard) face exciting and dangerous adversaries. Foes such as goblins, giant spider, and a very angry dragon. Highly recommended for people that enjoy fantasy books. It kept me reading even when I was exhausted late at night.
