CD reviews

Shenanigans-Green Day

This is Green Day's latest cd. For any hardcore Green Day fans like me, this cd is awesumum, My sources say that all the songs sound the same and i agree mostly but i luv anything by Geen Day. Songs like Dont wanna fall in love and you lied r pretty "original" but not as catchy as other songs on the cd such as HaHa ur Dead, but anyway I still reccomend pickin up this album. By the way this isnt there best cd cuz its made up of b-side songs so look around for other cds by the great Green Day. :Overall 4/5 stars

By The Way-Red Hot Chili Peppers

By The Way which is the title track to this cd is the best song on the album. Some of the other songs are OK, but mostly they all sound the same and didnt sound like much thought was put into them. Finally, almost every song on the album was slow and boring. By The Way is 1 of the only fast songs on the cd and the radio overplayed it and spoiled it. :Overall 2/5 stars

Veni Vedi Vicious-The Hives

This cd isnt as good as i thought it would be. You can pretty much count all the good songs on 1 hand:Main Offender, Supply and Demand, and Hate to Say I Told You So. Hate To Say I Told U So was also ruined by the radios tendency to overplay songs. Veni Vedi Vicious is mainly filled with songs that have really pointlesss lyrics and bad quality sound.(this is done purposely for the dumb people who dont kno). David says this doesntmatter cuz they're still not as bad as thickhead. I like this cd but its not worth buyin it, so just download it. :Overall 3/5 stars

Ramones Mania-The Ramones

BUY THIS CD AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. This cd is like the permanent punk blueprint. The only song that i thought was less than awesum was I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend, and if you think Ramones songs r too short (which u shouldnt), it doesnt matter cuz there r 30 of them. This is a great cd, 1 of the best ive ever listened 2. Every song is above average. This cd is almost perfect. Get off the internet right now, go 2 tower records and buy it right now. :Overall 4.5/5 stars

Reanimation-Linkin Park

This cd is really good considering its just a remix of their original album, Hybrid Theory. Each song sounds almost brand new. Also, there r a lot of songs that werent on hybrid theory so thats cool. The only thing I thought was kinda stupid about the cd was the long string instument opening and intermission to the album. Also, the various phone calls and answering machine messages werent necessary. Even if I already hgad Hybrid Theory I would still buy this cd. :Overall3.5/5 stars

The Lonley Position of Neutral-Trustcompany

Dont bother with this unless u like slow wannabe heavy metal. Downfall, Running From Me, Figure 8, and Deeper Into You r the best tracks on this 11 song album. the main problem I feel about this cd is the fact that the songs r soft and sound alike. If there was more variety in this cd I would've given it a better review :Overall 2/5 stars

Kerplunk-Green Day

Like every Green Day cd this is awesum. This is Green Days second cd they made.It is also there most hardcore cd, no light fairy tale happy songs just great loud fast songs. Also, this cd has an awesum cover of The Who's My Generation. This is my second favorite cd by Green Day and I highly reccomend buying it. :Overall 3.5/5 stars

Toxicity-System of a Down

I like this cd a lot. Every single song is good except for track 5, "X". One of the best songs on the cd is Bounce. IT IS SO FUNNY. I also like this cd because it is full of odd drum beats and tempo changes. I dont know why i didnt buy this cd when chop suey first hit radio cuz its awesum. This is by far 1 of the most interesting albums ever written or heard. :Overall 4/5 stars

Combat Rock-The Clash

I like a lot of the Clash's songs and they're 1 of my favorite bands, but I don't like this cd as much as I thought I would. Many of the songs are good but there wasnt anything really great on this cd besides the tracks "Should I Stay or Should I Go" and of course "Rock the Casbah". Those are the best songs I feel the Clash has ever written, otherwise I was pretty dissapointed. Some songs are just talking over bass lines. I moved the clash down on my list and I'm srry to any big Clash fan but ya know. :Overall 2.5/5 stars

The Young and the Hopeless-Good Charlotte

I didnt know Nsync played guitars. Just joking of course. This is a strong album which I enjoyed. Every song is pretty good, except for the shitty song "emotionless". Another song I had a problem with was "my bloody valentine" which is a song about killing ur rival in a love triangle. Whichever member of the band that wrote this is seriously fucked. The intro to the record is annoying, and "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" is really hypocritical. Other than the couple of songs just mentioned for being bad the rest of the album is what I expected:Loud fast and angry at your dad. Its an alright cd, no bad not great. I liked their 1st cd better. Overall:2.5/5 stars

Nocturnal Emissions-Thickhead

This record is good and I enjoyed it a lot. It only has 5 tracks but thats ok. The basslines for this record are really cool, especially "No Point in Trying". This is coming from another bassist..........me. The quality of the record is also pretty good considering its an independent release. Finally, I love "Ode to my Band Teacher". I know the band teacher and this song fits him perfectly. It is one of the funniest songs I have ever heard. Blah Blah Blah. Overall:3/5 stars

One By One-The Foo Fighters

First off, Dave Grohl can do no wrong so it's impossible for any of his projects to be bad. Anyway, I love this cd. Its fuckin awesum. "All My Life" is probably the most aggressive track on the album, but every song is cool in it's own way. Strangely this cd sort of reminds me of the old days when Nirvana was around. This is because many of the songs have a dark brooding feel to em. Every song has a good quality so it would take too long to go over each one.Take my word for it this cd is beast, and Dave Grohl is forever "The Man".Overall:4.5/5 stars

A Jacknife to A Swan-The Mighty Mighty Bosstones

I'll leave this short and sweet. I can't possibly believe how strong this cd is. They are the kings of ska/skate punk. There isn't 1 bad song on this album. I just can't believe it. All these songs could be potential singles. They are true punk innovators. I play trumpet and I still don't understand how they come up with these kinds of riffs. Anyway, go buy this record if you ever get off the computer from reading my ravings about it. Overall:4/5 stars

Ramones Mania-Ramones (Revised)

All the stuff I said before, except I've realized that "I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend" isn't that bad so.... Overall:5/5 stars
