Robbie Roberston

Robbie Robertson

Robbie Robertson incorporates Native American music styles with modern styles. Like Oliver Shanti he has political songs with similar topics, the imprisonment of Leonard Peltier. While Robbie's music is more modern then Oliver Shanti's it still offers a similar feel.

Robbie Robertson's oppressive use of overripe synths and trendy electro beats fails to disguise the slightness of the songs or strained characterlessness of his vocals, and the chilly, claustrophobic result does a major disservice to the subject matter. (Entertainment Weekly)

Robbie has had a great deal of success that won him many awards and opportunities. In 1994 The Band is inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame and perform live at the induction ceremony. Robertson performed in the Native American ceremonial spectacular at the opening ceremonies of the XIX Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah.
