From the Mailbag...
In the past few months, I have been receiving notes from visitors to this site. It is nice to know my site actually gets visited by something other than me or the cyber equivalent of a tumbleweed. Thanks, and keep the input coming! Send mail to oboesucksezralite@lycos.com
Please no come-ons or content that's more than PG. I am very much attached, in a committed loving relationship. Gracias.(95% of you have been good, and I thank you for that, but this is for the others.)

Hi,
I loved your site. It was hilarious. Only one comment. My bf is an oboist
and he's also an excellent kisser. Oh yeah, and I'm a saxophonist...give it
a break...we're not the devil!
Paddy
um, wanna bet that we won't meet up in hell?

hello! i must say, i really love the site. see, i as well, play the oboe. or shall i say... used to?
i was in middle school from 5-8 grade, and the first three years i played trumpet. i loved it, so i thought...but so, my 8th grade year, i switched to oboe, and it rocked my world... i was so much better at that then the trumpet. i was pumped for high school, till i found out they dont march oboes. i was madder than a hornet. perfect timing came, and i moved from pa to fl... so no band for me! then i moved again, and by now my dreams of being in band were gone. and in order to be in band, u had to be in marching band... soo. yeah. the oboe really isnt mine, its my cousins, but i still have it. i love that thing, ands its reeds. they SOOO need to make them suckers cheaper.
i just figured i would share my experience and love for that blasted thing.

ps... i just thought u might find this story slighty funny... just b/c im a total stranger and i wrote this loooooooong thing for you.
"Before there can be a revolution in this world, there must be a revolution in your heart" - God
Good to know the art of the double reed has not been lost on the younger generation. And yes, reeds cost a ludicrous amount of dinero. But, if they didn't cost that much, my former teacher/reed supplier, would be on food stamps and welfare. It keeps him afloat, which is all I can tell myself every time I write a fat check to him for reeds.

Dear Marguerite,
I stumbled on your website tonight while working on my own...best wishes for
your graduation...I'm 61 and trying to learn how to do websites and wishing
I had been a music major when I was in college(back in the early 60's!) My
son played the oboe after he got tired of hauling the string bass around.
(Well, once he was in sixth grade I made HIM carry the string bass
everywhere.!)
I want to keep up with your career. Hope to follow your website and email
you occasionally. Keep up with the music. There are more opportunities out
there than you will ever know about! Good luck and best wishes!
