Howdy, gang. In the spirit of self-aggrandizing personal websites, I thought I’d write a little bit about myself to make sure that anyone who doesn’t already know me too well will by the end of this. I’m about six five, two hundred pounds of twisted steel and sex appeal, brown hair, hazel eyes, I like reading, long walks on the beach, fighting and fishing. Okay, I’m totally kidding about the long walks on the beach part. Actually, the reason for this website is not too feed my ego, but to promote the things that I’m doing, some of which are pretty neat. Music, obviously, but some friends have also asked what I’ve been writing, so that’ll be up. Eventually, we’ll also have some action photos of me and Allison rocking out (hey Jens, send me the one from Turkey’s Nest, when I fought all those goons on St. Paddy O’Furniture’s day), pictures and links to the website of the short movie I starred in (thank you, no applause) this summer which I’m also doing music for, the story of my shipwreck, MP3s of all the crap I’ve recorded, some of which isn’t widely available, plugs for our upcoming shows, etc., etc. Hopefully all of this will make me blow up like Eminem, get fucked up, and go broke again. We Are Not Playing It Safe. This is the umpteenth draft of an article I’m still working on about the imaginary baseball league of Tris McCall, the most interesting (and interested) man in rock.

The Body. This is probably the best , most flawed and most likely to be misinterpreted story I’ve ever written. A friend wrote about it "this is unquestionably the best work of yours we've seen to date. The writing is sophisticated, fluid and clear. The details are impeccable. This has the rare power of fully imagined work." On a second reading, he wrote "Mishka, Mishka, Mishka: the problem's not that you're a pervert (although you are, and this is born out by the fact that the word "panties" appears about 75 times in this story), but that when the plot itself is separated from the narrative technique cleverness, it is bizarrely simple-minded… This is not a story a talented individual like yourself should be authoring." Give it a whirl.

More to come,

Mishka
