Songs You Should Check Out

Metal_medley is a site for seeing some cool reviews and lists of songs and albums. Some of them are punk, experimental, rock/rap fusion, or just straight up metal, but they all fall into the same category. Look here somewhat frequently because I tend to update every once in awhile. You can like this site or not like it, that's fine with me. NOTE: SOME REVIEWS MAY BE DELETED OVER TIME. ****************News******************** ***Slipknot just got a new album out, which I will get sooner or later. I'll just download the songs for the time being. Slipknot also has cool new masks, freakier than before. *****************Song Reviews******************** ***Slipknot - Left Behind: An excellent opening guitar riff, with an infectious melody that'll get stuck in your head. Verdict: Guilty of being one of the best Slipknot singles. ***System of a Down - Chop Suey: A schizophrenic song that switches from acoustic guitar to electric guitar and alternates throughout the song. The song can be very heavy at times and almost classical at others. Verdict: Very good song, one of S.O.A.D.'s finest. ***Mudvayne - Death Blooms: A wailing intro with high-pitched harmonics. The song's verses are deftones-like with quiet lyrics coming to a loud crecendo. Verdict:Great song, but enough with the Deftones already!!! NOTE: SORRY THE REVIEWS ARE HARD TO READ!!!! *******************Album Reviews******************* ***Tool - Lateralus: A very experimental album whose songs have references to mythical beings such as Saturn. All songs have complex guitar and bass riffs with a strong drum backround. In my opinion, it is the best experimental metal album of the year. ***Mudvayne - L.D. 50: Named for the lethal dosage needed to kill 50% of subjects tested, this album is very well done. Its songs are full of violent guitar and drums with melodic lyrics, which, for death metal, are extremely rare. This is what you think until the song that you are listening to hits you with a pummeling chorus. The album was produced by Slipknot's Shawn Crahan. By the way, there are some unsettling interludes throughout the album using a mixture of electronic sounds and tubular bells.
