Townsend Boys

Townsend is a young, all- male vocal group that sings a hip-pop style of music. Townsend's home base is the San Francisco Bay Area.

Bio of the Group: Four of the members of Townsend, Todd, Ryan, and the Restani twins, met while working in the promotions department for a popular San Francisco radio station. The “boys” were often teamed up to work major concerts and large promotional events. The boys quickly realized that they all hired on with the radio station for the same reason; and that reason was to work in the music industry. Specifically, to be a member of a talented and successful pop group.

For the last year the members of Townsend have been devoting endless hours in pursuit of their mutual goal. They’ve been working with a vocal coach to fine-tune their individual solo skills as well as enhance their group skills. They hired a producer/song writer to work with them on the development of a “sound” that resonated with the kind of euphony that they wanted to be known for. Townsend realizes that having the right image and having singing skills is not sufficient in the current pop music environment. They also recognized that they had to have a well-choreographed dance routine. Townsend is definitely a high-energy athletic group.

After a few trials and tribulations, Townsend selects a fifth member, Matt Yoakum. Not only does Matt have the right look and vocal qualities that the group was looking for, Matt brings a wealth of music experience to the team. He’s an accomplished lyricist, pianist, and producer

Matt has been singing semi-professionally since he was quite young. Matt was chosen to be one of the 25 finalists for the ABC television show Making the Band, a Lou Pearlman production. His extensive singing experience is a significant plus for the group.

Ryan, the youngest member of the group, was working on his career in acting when he decided to set it aside in order to devote all his energies to Townsend. Ryan has had some success as an actor. He appeared in the movie Boys and Girls and in the independent film Sculptress. Ryan has been singing and acting in one form or another since he was a young child.

Dominic and Nicholas, the twins, are the truly high-energy members of the group. No matter how strenuous the dance routine, they remain fresh and full of energy. Dominic is often the spokesman for the group. His confidence is obvious and refreshing. In between group practices and vocal lessons the twins keep busy as firefighter interns.

Todd is the leader and anchor of the group from a business perspective. Todd is the oldest member of the group at the ripe old age of 22. Like the other boys, except maybe a little more so, he is articulate, confident, and charming. While Todd is a more than capable singer and dancer, his value to the group is in his ability to keep the group focused and cohesive.
