Too frequent … too many
tears from the eyes
of the innocent child
that within me resides~

Burrowed deep today
in yesterdays’ disguise
of things that happened
before these young eyes~

Trying so hard to figure out
Why …
Why the voices still shout
But I’ve no answer to the why~

Childhood in tatters
tears need release
the tears of innocence
that will not cease~

I beg the plentiful God,
if He will …
take these tears
these tears
these tears of innocence
that cry me still~
