Never Let Go
Chapter 9- The Movie
~*Taylor’s Point Of View*~

I glanced at my watch, 6:45. We were late, oh well.

" Manda we gotta go or else we're going to be late." I said knocking on her door.

" Give me five seconds and then Ill be out."

" Fine but if youÕre not out in five seconds then IÕm gonna have to come in there pick you up and carry you out to the car."

" 5…4…3…2…" and she opened the door looking absolutely beautiful. She was wearing a simple black skirt that was about mid-thigh and a snug lavender v-neck shirt.
"1" I smiled at her and then I picked her up and slung her over my shoulder. Then I started to carry her up-stairs, her protesting the entire way. I was nearly up the stairs when my phone rang.

" Grr" I carried her back down the stairs and went over to the table by the couch to pick up the phone.

" Hello?"

" Hey Taylor. ItÕs Ryan. IÕm having a party a week from tonight. Wanna come dude?"

" Taylor PUT ME DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

" Dude, what was that."

" O that? That was Amanda."

" O that one chick that was down here like 8 years ago."

" That'd be the one."

" Tight, so you wanna come?"

" Week from tonight thatÕs what Friday? Manda wanna go to a party week from today."

" Sure. Now can you PLEASE put me DOWN!"

" No, Ryan?"

" Yeah dude?"

" WeÕll be there. What time does it start?"

" Sweet, round 8 or 9 whenever."

" Alright. Catch ya later dude."

" Bye" and with that we disconnected.

" Taylor please. Pretty please, with sugar on top and cherries, and whip cream, and hot fudge, and whatever the hell else you want, put me down." I contemplated this for a moment before replying.

" No." I then went back to carrying her up the stairs. She yelled the entire way. When we finally made it to the car I put her down.

" Ugh now my hairs all messy and IÕm extremely dizzy." I laughed a bit.

" Oh, so you think this is funny now do you?"

" Yeah."

She stuck her tongue out at me.

" DonÕt stick it out if youÕre not gonna use it."

" EWE! Taylor! ThatÕs gross!"

" YouÕre the one that stuck it out not me."

" EWE! Taylor, ugh IÕm gonna get you back for that."

" For what?"

" Carrying me down the stairs dumbass."

" Right, and exactly how do you plan on doing that?"

" I donÕt know yet but Ill figure something out."

~* AmandaÕs Point Of View *~

~* 3 hours later *~

The drive to the theatre was uneventful. We listened to the radio and made cracks about the stupid stuff they played sometimes. Much to my protest he bought my ticket. So I bought snacks, red Jellybellys and a Dr. Pepper. The movie was great, a bit confusing until the end, but a good movie. As we were walking back to his car we decided to go have some coffee, seeing as neither of us was ready to go home.

" So were do want to go for coffee?" he asked as he pulled out of the parking lot.

" I have no clue. YouÕre the one that lives here. You pick."

" Alright."

About 10 minutes later we arrived at a little coffeehouse, 'The Starlight cafŽ. It was called 'The Starlight Cafe' because the ceiling was one huge window. You could look up from where you were sitting and see the stars. It was really beautiful. Besides that, the only other lighting was a few scattered lamps and the candles at each table and booth. There was a stage at the front of the cafe and several couches and beanbags in front of it. Then further back there were tables with booths along the walls. Old black and white photos adorned the walls and fresh red roses sat in vases at each table and booth.

" Wow! It’s beautiful in here."

" Yeah, itÕs a great place to come and think. I come in here a lot to write songs or just to be by myself."

We found an empty loveseat and made ourselves comfortable listening to the various poets. Shortly after sitting down a waitress took our order. We both ordered a Vanilla Frapacinno. She came back a few minutes later with our order. We both sipped along on our frapacinno s and talked about various things. Mainly catching up on each otherÕs lives since we had last seen each other. Although, there wasnÕt much that we didnÕt already know, seeing as we told each other everything, minus him and Rachael, which he explained in its entirety that night.

After sitting in silence for a few minutes I finally asked, " What time is it?"

"It’s," he said glancing at his watch, " 10:30pm."

" Well, we should probably head home soon then."

" Yeah, hey do you wanna stop by the park and go for a walk?"

" Uhh sure. We should probably call though and like let your parents know that we wonÕt be home for awhile."

" Yeah thatÕd probably be a good idea. Ill call home then we can go, k?"

" Sure." He then produced a red cell phone from his pocket and called his house.

" Hey dad, Me and Amanda are gonna take a walk in the park before we head home ok?"

" Sure just be home by midnight."

" Alright. See ya later dad," He hung up and put it back in his pocket, " so you ready to go?"

" Yeah letÕs get out off here." We paid for our coffee and then left the amazing little cafŽ. After climbing into the car I turned on the radio and Taylor pulled out of the parking lot. Lollipop (Candyman)' by Aqua was playing on the radio. It had just started and I immediately threw myself into the fast paced song. Singing the lyrics, and dancing as best I could while being restrained in my seat. Taylor burst out laughing.

" What?"

" You just look funny trying to dance in that seat."

I turned a deep crimson. " Yeah well itÕs one of my favorite songs. ItÕs got a great beat so itÕs hard for me to sit still. Damn all those years of dance."

" Hehe yeah well at least you can dance."

" IÕm sure you can dance, Taylor.  I mean youÕve got great rhythm, thatÕs evident by the way you jump around while playing the keyboards at concerts."

" Sure I can dance, just not very well. IÕm a very bad dancer."

" Well weÕll just have to change that before next week wonÕt we."

" What do you mean?"

" You donÕt honestly think that I would go to a party and not dance do you?" he shook his head no. " And IÕm going to need someone to dance with so"

" NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I hate dancing!"

" How!?!?!? How could anyone hate dancing? Dancing is fun. YouÕre not getting out of it."

" Ugh! Fine, I'll dance, but I swear if I look like a fool itÕs your fault."

" I promise that you will not look like a fool ok?"

" Alright. Well, here we are."
He climbed out of the car and before I could even reach to open my door it had opened and TaylorÕs hand stuck in the door offering me assistance.

" Thank you." I said softly as I got out of the car. He kept holding my hand and I didnÕt object. We didnÕt talk; we just walked holding each otherÕs hands absorbed in our own thoughts and the beautiful atmosphere of the park, with the lake and the stars. It was perfect. We walked for about an hour when I finally asked for the time.

" You should get a watch you know." He smiled and I smiled in turn.

" Yeah I know. So what time is it?"

"Its 11:45pm, we should go home."

" Yeah." So we turned and walked back to the car, peaceful silence enveloping us once again. After the short 5-minute ride we walked in the front door. Everyone was in the living room laughing about something.

" IÕm gonna go change into my P.J.'s real quick and then Ill come join you guys k?"

" Alright, oh by the way, I had a really great time tonight."

" Me too. We should do it again sometime."

" Mmmhmm."
