Never Let Go
Chapter 11-

~*Manda’s Point Of View*~

Well it had been a week since the "slumber party", and it was finally the night of Ryan’s party. Taylor had had his date with Katie and one every night after that. He asked her to be his girlfriend last night. They were all lovey dovey and gross. I’d cried myself to sleep every night that week, whether it be in the treehouse or my room. Either way, I don’t think Taylor noticed. He’d become a temporary resident of Katie land and was oblivious to everything in the real world. Krista poked her head into my room.

" You about ready to go?"

" Yeah, just give me sec. Vanilla or Peach?" I question holding up two different lipglosses.

" Does it matter?"

" Yes. Peach is Tay’s favorite but Vanilla is good too."

" Vanilla." I put the flavored gloss on my pinkish lips and we walked upstairs to where everyone else was waiting.

" You look great Manda." Isaac complimented me as we walked into the room. I was wearing a short black skirt and a fitted white shirt with my clunky black shoes.

" Thanks. You don’t look so bad yourself." He did look pretty good that night. He was wearing a pair of kacky Dockers and a tight hunter green shirt. He had recently gotten his hair cut short and it looked awesome. Then I saw Taylor. He was looking irresistible in a pair of semi-loose black pants and a tight white shirt with a navy blue button down over it. There was one thing spoiling his look though. The evil bitch who had stolen MY Taylor, sorry MY best friend, was sitting on his knee.  She was so fake. Everything about her was fake. Fake nails, fake laugh, fake smile, fake personality. And I’m sure there was more plastic in her than there was Barbie. I was probably exaggerating with the last statement but I swear they looked as fake as press-on nails done by my 5-year-old cousin. Krista had since gone over to sit with Zac who was wearing a pair of black parachute pants and a baggy MXPX shirt. Kendra was over at Ryan’s helping with the party.

" Well are we all ready to go?" Isaac asked, finally breaking the silence. Mumbled ‘yeah’s’ were heard from everyone.

" How are we riding?" I asked on the way out the door.

" You’re going with Taylor and Katie, and Zac and Krista are coming with me." I pouted, although no one noticed, and went over to Taylor’s red VW bug. Taylor started the car and shortly after he pulled out of the driveway and started the drive to Ryan’s house. Katie turned on the radio, proceeding to sing along, in her mirror-breaking voice, to ‘Barbie Girl’ by Aqua. How perfect. I looked in the rear-view mirror to see Taylor cringing as he drove. We finally reached Ryan’s house about five minutes later. I quickly climbed out and rushed into the booming house. Who should be playing? Brittany Spears. Well, this night just kept getting better and better. I walked over to the drink table to grab a coke and then sat down on the couch, silently watching all the dancing people. Envying all of them because they had someone to dance with. I was supposed to, but I had been passed up for ‘the girlfriend’. What fun. How could everything have changed so drastically in the past week? When I got here it was me and Taylor attached at the hip. Well that lasted all of day before he moved to Katie land. How could my BEST FRIEND ditch me for this cheap Barbie knock off? It was cruel and unusual punishment if you asked me. Of course no one did. So I sulked for the next three hours drinking soda and despising my best friend more and more with each passing moment.

                      ~* 3 hours later *~

" AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! COLD! COLD! VERY COLD!" Some drunken moron had decided to spill their beer all over me. Soaking through my white shirt, which I’m sure was now completely see through. Great, just one more thing to add to my list of fun moments tonight. I’ve had a couple sit on me while they were making out. Some guy stomped on my toes when I went to get another coke. I hadn’t danced once that night. I hadn’t seen a single familiar person. Someone spilt chips on me, in fact I think I still felt a few crumbs down my bra, and then to top it all off someone spilt their beer on me. I quickly rushed to the bathroom to try and rid my shirt of the beer. I tried soaking it in water but that proved to be fruitless. So, with a pout on my face and a drag in my feet, I put the shirt back on and went back to the couch. Only when I got there I noticed someone had taken my spot.

"Isaac?"

"Manda?"

"Hey, where is everyone?"

" Taylor and Katie are making out somewhere, Zac and Krista are dancing, and Kendra and Ryan are mingling. Shouldn’t you be like out there dancing?"

" Well, incase you haven’t noticed my shirt is soaked ‘cause some moron spilt their beer on me, and I would be dancing if it weren’t for the fact that my dancing partner had decided to ditch me to go make-out with his girlfriend."

" Ouch"

"Yeah, but I think the worst part is that he’s totally oblivious to me. He’s barely said two words to me all week and we share the same living space. I mean my room is right next to his and we never close the bathroom doors, well, except when… but that’s besides the point."

" I’m so sorry. Do you want me to talk to him?"

" You could try but I think your efforts would be in vane."

" Well, I’ll talk to him tomorrow anyway."

"Thanks. Do you think we could just go home? I’m absolutely freezing, and I’m bored out of my mind."

" Sure, just let me go tell Kendra and Zac that they’ll need to catch a ride home with Taylor."

" Ok" With that he went to go find Kendra and Zac. He found them and a few minutes later we left.
