Here`s what I do when recording wav files; I can only record 20 seconds of sound, which is why the clips sounds rushed, but I try to make every note count! Sounds complicated at first, but it works! Dave

§~1~§
I run a cable that has a ¼" phone plug [male] on one end & has 2 RCA female plugs on the other end. [these are just like the plugs you use to connect your VCR to webtv in back of your webtv box]

I plug the male end phone plug into the headphone jack of my Fostex X-14 4-track recorder.
§~3~§
Then I plug the other end with the 2 female RCA into the "Audio" outlets of my Webtv plus, which is located in back of the webtv terminal.

Then I plug in a microphone [an Audio-Technica Pro2ax] from my 4 track and position in near the speakers, where ever sounds good. Then I adjust the levels of the 4-track `til it sounds decent.
