"That Ain`t Cool To Me"

© DANOLYRICS 2001

Went to the grocery store,
To pick up a couple things,
Fancy jogging suit on the checkout dude,
He had a pierced nose with 3 rings,

I said "Son what`s that about?",
He claimed "self expression`s what you see",
I said "Go ahead and make your statement",
But that ain`t cool to me.

Levi`s and a ballcap,
Flannel shirt and workboots,
Or Wrangler`s and a Stetson,
They`re my business suits,
And a man don`t need no extra holes,
Punched in his head you see,
Diamond studs and flashy duds...,
No that ain`t cool to me.

Next I went to the Quick-Fill,
To gas up my four by four,
A ton of make-up on the skinny counter girl,
Or at least a shovel full for sure,

Fishnet top with a halter,
Baggy pants big enough for three,
I said "More power to ya girl",
But that ain`t cool to me.

Levi`s and a ponytail,
Flannel shirt and hiking boots,
Maybe a nice dress or outfit,
Or even a business suit,
A woman don`t need no warpaint,
No punk fashion shopping spree,
Artificial beauty and dressing fruity...,
No that ain`t cool to me.

Some think I`m insane,
But cool to me is plain,
There ain`t no pretention in me,
Some say I`m out of style,
I just nod and smile,
I`ve got plenty of good company.

So I`ll keep my blue jeans,
And no doubt my hat,
Flannel shirts and my boots,
I`ll be happy with that,
Don`t hold your breath,
On me ever changin, you see,
Cause trend chasing, is time wasting...
And that ain`t cool to me.

Yeah, that ain`t cool to me.
