Mar. 30, 2003. No, you're not high. That is Hilary Duff - Lizzie McGuire herself - busting on to the chart right under Johnny Cash. And, no, I am not high. But for a flighty pop song, Duff’s “Why Not” brings me pretty close to it. The equivalent of a sugar rush, the peppy ditty seems to be something I cannot stop listening to. It’s fresh and happy – perfect for the new season. Meanwhile, Cash’s painfully astounding video for “Hurt” helps to keep him on top of the song list while his devastatingly awesome covers keep American IV the top album, despite the debut of Linkin Park (at 36 minutes, I think it’s safe to say that Meteora barely qualifies as an album) and the return of Eminem (I bought the 8 Mile DVD and felt like hearing his music again). And that’s about all I have to say this week. Oh yeah, except for that I wrote a really funny story about Lila McCann and how she’s a lard ass and how – in the story – she recorded a song called “Liberries are Eeevil” and then country radio banned it because it dissed libraries, and therefore, the American right to read. Heh, that was fun. *** --Brandon "Jayson" Ulman +++++ | ||||
