To start with, Tina Arena is numero uno for semana dos (wouldn't have been cool if I used Italian and not Spanish? Yeah.) Meanwhile, U2 lose some momentum and slide 2-3, allowing Gwen Stefani to push her way into the runner-up position. She could easily grab No. 1 next week. A bit further down, Holly Valance scores her third Top Ten with "Please Please Me", one of the bonus tracks from the Japanese edition of State Of Mind. In other news, three of four debuting titles this week are new Christmas singles (Rilo Kiley's "It's A Hit" is the exclusion among the quartet), with Play scoring Top Debut honors for "Sleigh Ride", from Play Around The Christmas Tree (which, not uncoincidentally, debuts at No. 2 on the albums list). Finally, Yellowcard's "Only One" leaps 50-40 to earn the Biggest Mover title, though Fiona Apple (No. 21) and Jimmy Eat World (No. 33) make some impressive gains themselves.
Well, dammit. I used all my fun facts & figures up there ^ . So what do I talk about now? The weather? OK, I wish it would snow, I mean, 'cuz it is f***ing December. Christmas is in, like, three goddamn weeks (hee, goddamn) and it's 50 f***ing degrees here in s**thole Ohio. Isn't that sweet? No, it's not. ...Hmmm. What else? Oh, did anyone watch The Simpsons last night? SO funny. It had the single best Fox News joke ever. And Arrested Development? So f***ing hilarious. It had the best use of Vince Guaraldi's "Christmas Time Is Here" since The Royal Tenenbaums. Sunday from 8-9 pm on FOX is truly the best hour of television every week. Watch, I say! Watch!! And the self-censorship? Well, Angelfire has this cussing policy I guess, and I'd rather not lose my page just because I want to say fuck. Oh. Whoops.
CRAP SINGLE OF THE WEEK: SPECIAL ONE-TIME FEATURE! Pick a single yourself, one you really hate, and write your own diatribe! It's fun and cathartic! As for me, I'll get back to doing it next week (maybe). Meanwhile, what should you do with said reviews? Well, you could always shove them up your- -
