Drawings at the 2 Student Business Meetings:
National Conference Registration 2001 (~$100)
Student AMTA Membership 2002 for a freshman ($70)
Student AMTA Membership 2002 for a sophmore ($70)
Student AMTA Membership 2002 for a junior ($70)
Instrument for a senior/future professional (~$70-$80 value)
Instrument Drawings at both meetings - about 8 given
Competitions:
Regional Song Writing Contest - $50 cash prize
Music Therapy Joke Writing Contest - $15 cash prize
Top Number of Service Projects Completed by a school - $75
Runner Up for Service Projects Completed by a school - $25
That’s about $600 going back to the SWAMTAS students!!!

3. Your Responsibilities:
A. Drums Not Guns Project - each school is to donate 15+ percussion
instruments to our service project on Friday morning. You must bring these
to the
conference to be presented to the Drums Not Guns representatives.
B. Silva Magnet High School Presentation - each school is to bring information about music therapy and their school to be handed out to the high schoolstudents we are presenting to about music therapy. There will be 100-200 students attending. An AMTA video will be shown for the first 15 minutes, the Drums Not Guns will make a 35 minute presentation. We will be assisting the presentation as needed. Please meet in the lobby by 8:00AM on Friday to travel together to the school. All students are expected to attend, as this is our only service project as a region done yearly.
C. Student led Session: Friday 10-11:30AM - each school is to
have a 10 minute presentation about anything relevant to music therapy,
students,
classes, etc. Please email me your topic and the names of those presenting
by Monday, March 26th - koetting@arn.net.
D. Competitions - Those students who would like to participate
in the Regional Song Writing Competition for Students and the Music Therapy
Joke
Contest are to turn in their names to me at the 1st Student Business
Meeting on Friday. These songs and jokes will be preformed that evening
at the
cabaret. The Regional Song is to be for the students, as the professionals
have recently adopted their own song in the past year. Please be creative!
E. Each school is to turn in to me at the 1st Student Business Meeting a list of your service projects completed April 2000-March 2001. This list must be signed by your Music Therapy professor to be valid. The awards for these will be given at the 2nd Student Business Meeting.
F. Tote Bag Booth - Each officer is responsible for a one slot
throughout the conference to sell the tote bags. Please respond to these
officers by signing
up for times. Each officer please email the names by March 26th to
koetting@arn.net. Time Slots for booth are on last page of packet.
G. Newsletter entry - Each school and officer is to write a short
article to be put in our newsletter. These entries are to be collected
at the 2nd
Business Meeting by Molly Cox, Secretary. Please have these printed
and ready to go by the time you get to conference.
H. Dues: Please make sure that your school is current in your
dues with the treasurer, Bill Matney by the time that you get to conference
so everyone
can vote and be eligible for an office. Email him at: Bmatney6@cs.com
