When first learning about genealogy, I loved going back in time as far as possible, if not surrendering to the obsession. Over the decades I have found at least six connections to the Mayflower and hundreds if not thousands (i.e., I stopped counting at one point) of distinct lines to Charlemagne or the signers of the Magna Charta. I therefore used to have an extensive pedigree of my generations higher than 15, but mostly these were the lines of the royal families of Europe, as well as Roman Emperors. I even included a pedigree going back to Adam and Eve.

I have since deleted this file, because it took up so much room in my website that I could no longer edit it. I also believe that others have compiled these pedigrees in ancestor.com or familysearch.org (mostly for fun).

The main occupation for my genealogy these days is to keep the information about the first 63 people in my pedigree, or generations one through six, as accurate and up-to-date as possible. I should also preserve as many stories as I can about them. Pedigrees that begin with one of these 63 people and go forward in time, if possible, have been developed by me and others at familysearch.org.
