What seemed like hours later Siobhan was finally lifted off the hospital room floor. Her mom and her seemed to be able to continue to cry for hours and hours without any threat of running out of tears. JC could only watch solemnly and somewhat awkwardly. All the times in the past when he thought Siobhan was just moody when her family or past was mentioned, he didn’t even begin to imagine how much more there was to her than met the eye.
JC had left the room for a brief moment, at one point and time, to use his cell phone and let one of the guys know he was going to be a little late for sound check. Lance had sighed and nodded his head, oblivious to the mere hint of anything that JC had just experienced. JC quietly crept back into the hospital room where Siobhan was slumped in a chair with her mother beside her, both silently crying together.
JC walked over to Siobhan and squatted in front of her. He gazed softly into her glassy eyes and stared intently at her. It was amazing what pain and anguish she was letting out for the first time since he had known her. He knew that wasn’t very long, but the way she hid things about herself and her family had poked his curiosity constantly and now he knew part of the reason why she was so secretive about everything.
JC took Siobhan’s hands hesitantly, unsure of her reaction. To his relief, Siobhan let her hand be gripped in his own. JC tightened his fingers around her delicate ones, never taking his eyes off of hers.
“Whenever you want to leave, just say the word,” he whispered gently and cautiously.
Siobhan nodded her head and sighed, showing she was finally beginning to end her tears for the time being. She looked down into JC’s eyes and noticed the soft and caring expression he had on his face. Siobhan thought she saw something glimmer in his facial expression, something different than she had seen before, or maybe something that had always been there but she had just never bothered to notice. She shook her head and told herself it was just her vulnerability making her see things that weren’t really there.
She broke her stare away from JC’s and looked over to her mom who, for once in her life seemed lost and disheveled. Siobhan brushed a piece of stray hair out of her mother’s face and looked at her with a pained look on her face.
“Where are you staying mom?” she asked in a soft whisper.
Her mother stared at the floor for a moment before mumbling a response, “At home.”
“How are you getting there?” Siobhan asked.
“A taxi,” her mother replied in a weak voice.
“I’ll take you home...” Siobhan began.
Her mother shook her head and Siobhan trailed off. “I need to be alone for now dear,” she said quietly. “You understand don’t you?”
Siobhan nodded and smiled weakly to show her mother she respected her wish. She gave her mother an extended hug and made sure she had enough cab fair and energy to get back to her own home. When she was thoroughly satisfied she let JC slowly lead her out to the parking lot. Their walk beside each other to Siobhan’s car was completely silent and Siobhan seemed to be zoning out. JC instructed the limo driver to follow them back to Siobhan’s apartment, the driver nodded his head in obedience, catching a glimpse of the condition Siobhan was in.
JC led Siobhan over to her car and helped her into the passengers seat, climbing into the drivers seat afterwards. Siobhan handed over the car keys without any protest and leaned back in her seat with a distressed sigh.
JC started the car up and pulled out of the parking lot, making sure Siobhan was securely and safely in her seat. They drove in silence while Siobhan stared blankly out the window with no real expression, but tears sliding slowly down her face.
They reached her apartment and JC helped Siobhan out of the car. Siobhan stood up slowly and seemed to lose her energy all over again. She began to fall slowly as JC caught her before she could slip down to the ground. He lifted her up and slung her arm around his neck loosely while Siobhan began to cry again, whimpering softly. JC’s heart broke listening to her soft cries of pain and agony. He gripped her tightly around the waist and lifted her legs gently off the ground, carrying her towards her apartment building.
Siobhan leaned her head into JC’s direction and rested her head on his shoulder, burying her face in his shirt and continuing to cry. JC made his way to her apartment and managed to get inside with slight difficulty. He walked into Siobhan’s bedroom and laid her gently on the bed. He began to stand up when Siobhan linked her arms around his neck and called out to him.
“Wait,” she said softly. “Don’t go just yet.”
JC paused, still hovering over her. Siobhan’s face seemed so scared and hurt JC couldn’t seemed to move except to kneel beside her bed, taking her hand into his. He brought her hand to his mouth and kissed it gently.
To Siobhan’s surprise a chill ran through her body when JC’s lips brushed across the back of her hand. She wasn’t sure of the sudden rush of emotions, but decided to ignore them. She looked down at JC who was staring with a look of wonder and concern at her. She smiled weakly and left her hand rested in his.
JC watched Siobhan try and fight back all of the rushing emotions inside of her, but could see through the battle she was having with herself. Siobhan cleared her throat and looked directly at JC.
“Come here,” she said softly.
“I’m right here,” JC replied.
“No no, come closer,” Siobhan said motioning to him with her finger.
JC hesitated for a moment before leaning in towards her face. He leaned in closely and listened patiently and intently for her next comment, wondering what she was going to say.
“Thank you,” she whispered.
JC drew his head back in surprise and looked down at Siobhan with question in his eyes. “For what?” he asked, slightly confused.
“For not giving up on me,” she said slowly. “For persisting a friendship with me and for caring so much that you followed me.”
“I thought you hated me for that...” JC trailed off carefully.
Siobhan shook her head, “I wouldn’t have been able to make it home by myself and even now your still here and that means a lot.”
JC looked down at her and smiled softly. Siobhan noticed something about his smile, it almost seemed like the room changed into a softer tone of light, it glowed with his presence. Siobhan took a deep breath and stared directly into JC’s eyes, getting lost in the pools of blue that were clear and bright.
JC leaned down towards Siobhan’s face and stopped when they were nose to nose and breathing on each other. He stayed there for what seemed like hours, just staring down at her and breathing heavily. Siobhan closed her eyes and took a deep breath, she leaned forward as her breath quickened.
JC looked down at her face, eyes closed and lips pressed together, waiting to be kissed. He was so tempted to kiss her and fall into the moment, but he knew it was the wrong thing to do. He just witnessed her father’s death with her and though that brought them closer on a different level that even time couldn’t achieve, kissing her at that very moment would be wrong.
“Siobhan,” he whispered softly.
Siobhan opened her eyes and searched JC’s face, she heard the hesitancy in his voice and sensed something was wrong. She stared into his eyes and noticed the uneasiness he had about him. Siobhan sighed and nodded her head, covering her face with her hand.
“I’m sorry, I don’t know what came over me I--” she began.
JC placed his finger over her lips gently and hushed her. “Don’t apologize, there’s no need to.” Siobhan opened her mouth again to comment when JC shook his head and kept his finger on her lips. “Don’t try to protest either,” he said with a soft smile.
JC glanced over to the clock beside her bed and knew he was already terribly late for sound check. He sighed heavily, not wanting to leave Siobhan’s side, but duty called. He looked down at Siobhan laying in her bed and licked his lips.
“Try to get some sleep for me will you? I’ll tell everyone you caught that stomach virus again and can’t make it tonight, I’ll be back later to check on you,” he said, watching Siobhan’s every move.
Siobhan nodded and smiled gratefully, “Thank you again.”
JC smiled in return, “No need to thank me, it’s my pleasure.”
He continued to stare at Siobhan for a moment longer before leaning down towards her face. Siobhan closed her eyes and caught her breath in her throat. She waited patiently for his kiss when all the sudden she felt his lips brush across her forehead gently and quickly. She opened her eyes and saw JC studying her carefully.
“Take care of yourself ok?” he said in a soft tone.
Siobhan nodded her head and sighed heavily. She didn’t know what was coming over her or why she tried to even kiss JC, but what surprised her even more, was the fact that she wanted him to kiss her just a moment ago. She shut her eyes tightly and tried not to look at him, he was looking too appealing at that moment and she just had to overcome that, then she was sure she would be fine.
JC took one last look at her before getting up and leaving quietly. Siobhan made sure she heard him leave out the front door before opening her eyes and sighing loudly.
“What’s wrong with me?” she asked out loud, not really expecting a response from anyone.
The person she most thought was out to get her, just took care of her in her time of need. She had a feeling he would have stayed longer if he could have, but he was already late for sound check and it was because of her. Someone he barely knew and somewhat cared about, but not nearly as much as he cared about everyone else that had been in his life for a longer period than a month or two. Yet, he stayed by her side, took her home from the hospital, carried her to her apartment, tucked her into bed and restrained himself from her own raging hormones and vulnerability. This was a true gentlemen and more importantly, a true friend.
Siobhan sighed once again, wondering why she was feeling all these strange feelings towards JC and trying to figure out how to get over them quickly. She couldn’t afford to fall for him. Siobhan laughed out loud at her own thoughts, fall for JC? Romantically? Yeah right.
Siobhan laughed at herself again and turned over in her bed. She snuggled down in her covers and recalled the past events of the day. She had, had a long day and she was tired. Sleep sounded good and it’s what she needed. Siobhan closed her eyes tiredly and let her whole body relax, falling into a deep and much needed sleep.
The whole ride back to the arena seemed like a dream to JC. All he could think about was the look on Siobhan’s face throughout the whole afternoon. He had spent the whole day with her and it seemed odd that at brunch they were talking and laughing like old friends, then a few hours later Siobhan was an emotional wreck and he was the one she actually let in.
Something happened that particular afternoon and JC felt it. He realized how much he wanted to protect Siobhan. Now that he experienced that with her, he wondered what there next step was going to be. How would Siobhan act the next day? Would she accept him again and be his friend or would she act cold towards him and pretend as if nothing ever happened.
JC feared her reaction and prayed that it would be good and they could continue a friendship, building it up higher than they had been keeping it. He was brought out of his thoughts when the limo stopped and he could hear the engine being cut off. JC looked out the tinted window and sighed deeply. Now he had to push the whole afternoon to the back of his mind and act like nothing happened, it was going to be hard, but it was going to have to be done. He took one last deep breath and climbed out of the car, immediately being greeted by a security guard. He looked over at the limo driver and placed a finger over his mouth. The driver tipped his hat and nodded in response.
“Good luck with the show tonight Mr. Chasez!” he called after JC.
JC smiled in relief and waved in response as he got escorted to the back arena entrance.
“Siobhan...you will always be my daughter and you always have been and...and...I love you...”
The words kept repeating themselves in Siobhan’s mind as she tossed and turned in her sleep. The meaning and compassion that came along with them bounced back and forth in her head and her heart.
“No daddy, don’t leave yet, I’m not ready for you to go,” she called out in her sleep. Tears flew down her face as she flipped over in her bed for the umpteenth time that night. “Daddy...” she cried out softly.
“Siobhan,” someone called in a gentle whisper.
Siobhan’s eyes flew open and she sat up in bed, breathless and crying. Her eyes flew around the room, searching for the voice that had called her name. She was trying to determine if she was still asleep or not. A hand was placed on her shoulder as Siobhan jumped from being startled.
“Who the hell...” she trailed off, looking down at the hand, then letting her eyes run up the arm and back to the figure sitting in the dark beside her bed.
Siobhan quickly reached over to her night stand and turned on the light, hoping it was someone she knew. She flinched from the sudden brightness flooding into her eyelids, then looked over to find JC sitting next to her bed, hand placed gently on her shoulder.
His eyes seemed innocent and wonder filled. He watched her carefully and squeezed her shoulder carefully. “Are you ok?” he asked quietly. “I heard you calling out and crying in your sleep so I ran in here as quickly as possible.”
“What time is it?” she asked, ignoring his comment. She glanced over at the clock on her night stand and rubbed her eyes. “I’ve been sleeping for almost the whole night?” she asked in disbelief.
JC nodded, “I guess so, you were asleep when I came in.”
“When did you come in?” she asked.
“About half and hour ago,” he replied.
“Oh,” she said, looking down at her sheets. “Why did you come back?”
She looked over in time to see JC’s face fall, while hurt sweep over his expression. “I-I wanted to make sure you were ok,” he stuttered lightly. “But since you seem to be ok now, I guess I’ll leave...”
He began to get up slowly when Siobhan grabbed his arm. “Don’t go,” she said in a whisper. “Stay with me...please.”
JC slowly lowered himself to the floor beside her bed again and nodded in response.
“I just wanted to know...” Siobhan said slowly, unsure of her next comment.
“Yes?”
“Why are you doing this?” Siobhan asked carefully. “I mean your being here when you don’t have too, your going the extra mile and most of all your really caring...why?”
JC thought about her comment for a moment before responding. “I care about you. Like I said at the hospital, I care a great deal about you and there’s just something about you that fascinates me. To be honest, everything about you fascinates me. I can’t seem to get enough of you and I want to be here for you. You seem so bitter towards the world sometimes, I honestly wonder why and I want to help you to think and see otherwise.”
JC looked down at his hands and fidgeted, he was opening up more than he expected to but this was the only way to hopefully get Siobhan to continue treating him as a friend and maybe even build from that.
“I want to be your friend and I want to be there for you, but I need you to trust me and I need you to WANT me to be there, I don’t want to force myself upon you,” he finished softly.
Siobhan looked down at this man sitting on the floor beside her bed and she couldn’t believe her ears. An overwhelming feeling of being accepted and appreciation rushed through her body. He was actually confessing his feelings of true friendship and how he wanted to pursue one with her, this blew her away.
Never once in her life did she ever have true friend that didn’t run away from her. That didn’t treat her horribly or use her for what she had or could get. She didn’t have someone to cry to without them laughing her face, causing her to cry in her own time when no one was around. After awhile she had stopped crying all together, until now.
“Why...?” she choked out. “After all that I’ve put you through, jerking you back and forth through all my mood swings and never letting you in, but always being able to make you think that....why are you still here after all that?” she asked, eyes welling with tears. “I don’t understand.”
JC looked up at Siobhan’s face and stood up, sitting himself on the bed, next to her. He looked at her tear stained face and watched as fresh tears ran through the same path printed on her face as the last ones. He cupped her face with his hand and moved his thumb across her cheek to wipe away the tears.
“Because that’s what friends are supposed to do,” he said gently. “Friends are supposed to be there no matter what, always there lending a hand and trusting each other. Being able to deal and put up with the roller coasters that they put each other through, but whenever it comes down to it, their always there for each other. Their supposed to be able to push everything aside in their life to listen to the other person’s bad day if it makes the other person feel better to just vent. Their supposed to care immensely about the person and want to protect them in any way possible. Their supposed to be a true friend, no matter what the consequences...and that’s why I’m still here, because I want to be a true friend to you and I want you to accept me as one.”
Siobhan broke down and began to cry again. JC looked at her, panicked and concerned. He pulled her close, gently embracing her into a full and warm hug. Siobhan began to shake while sobbing in his arms, unstable and unsure. JC comforted her with a reassuring sound of stability.
“Shhhh,” he crooned softly.
Siobhan continued to cry loudly and insecurely. She didn’t understand it, what did she do to deserve someone so genuine and great to step into her life? She was always hurting other people and not caring who’s lives she ruined by what she exposed and now here she was with someone who cared about her and who really wanted to take care of her, yet she wasn’t sure how he got there and how she was lucky enough to find him.
“I-I-” she stammered, her whole body shaking from crying.
JC pulled away gently but continued to hold Siobhan in his grip, he looked back at her and smiled softly. “Yes?” he asked softly.
“I don’t know what do say,” she finally spit out.
JC chuckled softly and wiped a running tear, away. “You don’t have to say anything,” he said gently. “You’ve shown me more than words can ever express.”
JC woke up to a faint ringing sound. He stirred in his sleep and rubbed his eyes, blinking to recognize his settings. The sun from the windows poured into his dark eyelids and caused him to squint from the sudden light. He focused his eye sight on his surroundings and finally realized where he was, Siobhan’s room.
Seconds after realizing where he was, he finally realized the faint ringing he was hearing was his cell phone telling him someone was calling. He quickly unwrapped his arm from around Siobhan’s shoulders and let her lay down gently without waking her. After the umpteenth time the phone had rang, JC finally answered it, surprised the person on the other line hadn’t hung up already.
“Hello?” he asked in a whisper, making his way out of Siobhan’s bed room.
“JC! Where the HELL are you!?” a voice exclaimed into the phone. “All the security guards and everyone else on this tour is about to shit a brick because their in a frenzy looking for your sorry ass!”
JC rubbed his eyes, “Well good morning to you too Justin.”
“Haha, very funny,” Justin replied sarcastically. “Usually I would go along with your playfulness even in the wee hours of the morning, but this is seriously no laughing matter, everyone is in chaos wondering where the hell you are, by the way WHERE are you?” Justin rambled in one breath. He took a deep breath and JC could hear him sucking in large amounts of air, then releasing them slowly.
JC laughed lightly at Justin’s concern and behavior from it. “I’m fine if that counts for anything.”
“JC I swear to God once I find you I’m going to hurt you...bad.”
“That’s intimidating.”
“Seriously C, where the hell are you?” Justin asked, breath going back to normal pace. “I thought someone kidnapped you or something, it’s just not like you to disappear in the middle of the night and not return without a simple phone call to let us know where you are.”
“Your starting to sound more and more like my mother J, why is that?” JC asked with a small laugh.
“C I don’t know why the hell you find this so amusing, but we all remember when Lance’s life flashed before his eyes that one time when he was walking without a guard and those girls bombarded him, who the hell could imagine what had happened to you! At least we had Lance return to us that same night!” Justin said, getting exasperated.
JC laughed again, “I know, I know and I’m sorry for making everyone worry. If I had known I was going to fall asleep I would have called and let people know I wasn’t going to come back to the hotel.”
“Well I’m not the only one who...”
There was a slight pause and JC could hear voices in the back round. Suddenly there was a jumble of voices and noises.
“I’m talking to him--” Justin’s voice said, then being muffled by something.
“Justin?” JC asked. “Justin are you there? Are you ok?” he asked, beginning to panic. “JUSTIN ANSWER ME!”
“Sorry Justin had to leave temporarily, now would you like to tell me where you’ve been all night Mr. Chasez?” a voice rang into the phone.
JC laughed, recognizing the voice and shook his head. “Don’t do that to me! I thought Justin was getting kidnapped while I was on the phone!”
“Now you know how it feels!” the person scolded. “I was worried sick about you last night! The dogs were barking like crazy and the kids and I sat up waiting all night for you, poor dears, now their overcome with fatigue.”
“I didn’t know you knew big words like that Chris. Now am I going to get the same lecture from you as I did from Justin, because if that’s the case I’ll just hang up right now,” JC said, shaking his head from Chris’ little accent.
Chris giggled childishly, then laughed with amusement. “I knew you weren’t kidnapped, besides, getting kidnapped by a bunch of girls can’t be THAT bad right?”
“Better watch your mouth big guy, Dani wouldn’t like to hear you talking like that,” JC threatened playfully.
“You wouldn’t tell her!” Chris challenged.
“We’ll see. If there’s nothing else can I let you go now and see you in a little bit?” JC asked, rubbing his tired eyes again. “I would like to get back to sleep since I do have the day off and it’s still early in the morning.”
Chris sighed and said something to someone else standing in the room. JC could barely make out the words because by now, he was laying comfortably on Siobhan’s couch and drifting off to sleep.
“JC!”
“Wha-- Huh?” he asked confused, waking up again.
“I said, we’ll call you later so have your phone by you and this time, ANSWER IT!” Chris said, yelling into the phone.
JC held the phone away from his head and nodded. “Yes mother.”
“Good now sweetie don’t forget to eat breakfast and--”
Click. JC hung up. He laughed softly to himself and placed his cell phone on the nearby coffee table. He snuggled down into the cushions of the couch and closed his eyes once again, drifting back into the sleep he had been peacefully slumbering until the phone had woken him up.
A loud ringing noise woke Siobhan. She flipped over in her bed and grumbled something to herself under her breath. She glanced over to her alarm clock and checked the time. 8:04am.
“Waaaaay to early to be calling someone,” she mumbled to herself. She rolled over once again and buried her head under her pillow to block out the ringing of her phone.
To her surprise the phone stopped ringing. She smiled to herself and began to drift back to sleep when her cell phone began to ring on the charger beside her bed. She groaned out loud and pressed the pillow on her ears to block out the annoying sound. When it continued she finally got so aggravated, she picked up the phone in a huff.
“WHAT!” she yelled into it.
“Well well looks who’s awake,” a voice said with a twinge.
“Ugh,” Siobhan grunted. “Someone I definitely don’t want to talk to right now.”
“Aw now that’s not the way to greet someone you care about,” the person replied.
Siobhan could hear them smile on the phone and she hated that smile, even though she wasn’t looking at it. “What the hell do you want and why the hell are you calling so early?”
“Tsk tsk,” the other person scolded lightly. “Such rough language your using for your age, don’t you think? So many ‘hell’s’ in one sentence.”
“Here’s one more, go to hell,” she snapped.
The person on the other line chuckled to them self. “I forgot how much of a pleasure it is to wake you up so early in the morning.”
“I don’t have time for this,” Siobhan said, rubbing her eyes. “Good-bye.”
“Wait Si!”
Siobhan paused and debated on hanging up on Mike. “What,” she finally gave in.
She could almost hear Mike smirk on the other line, as usually she still stayed on the phone and listened. “Si when are we going to see each other?” he asked, crooning sweetly.
“When pigs fly, hell freezes over, and you regain your soul back,” she replied flatly. “Is that all you called about?”
“No...” he trailed off slowly.
“Well if your going to take your sweet old time telling me the real reason your calling, then I’m going to hang up, so feel free NOT to call later...when it’s actually a normal time in the day and most sane people are awake,” Siobhan said reaching for the off button.
“Si we need to make an appointment,” Mike blurted out, knowing Siobhan would hang up this time.
“Why?” she asked roughly. “I don’t really think I need to MAKE AN APPOINTMENT to see or meet with you, I think whenever I want, you’ll MAKE time...” Siobhan finished with a sly smile on her face. “In fact, I KNOW you will.”
Mike sighed, knowing she was right, but not wanting to give in or even remotely admit it. “I think YOU’LL be making the time for ME...very soon in fact.”
“And what makes you think that Mike?” Siobhan challenged.
“I know more than you think,” he replied with certain hint of slyness in his voice.
“What do you know?” Siobhan asked cautiously.
“Oh nothing important, but I’m sure I can find out the things I need to confirm my strong suspicions,” he replied nonchalantly.
“What...do...you...know?” Siobhan asked again, talking slowly.
“Guilty conscience Si?” Mike taunted playfully with an amused chuckle.
“There’s nothing you have against me,” Siobhan said, trying to act casual. She was probably, more trying to convince herself that, over him. She bit her lip in slight anxiety and took a deep breath, letting out a nervous laugh to herself. “I don’t have time to play childish guessing games, so for the last time, GOOD-BYE!” Siobhan said, rushing to get off the phone.
“Si don’t--” Mike began.
Click. Siobhan had no patience and especially so early in the morning, she hated to be woken up and especially by Mike out of all people to call her and wake her. Siobhan placed her cell phone back on her charger and snuggled back into her covers. She closed her eyes and realized she wasn’t getting back to sleep after that, semi disturbing phone call from Mike. She sighed, exasperated and slightly frustrated. She threw her covers off and swung her legs over the side of her bed. She stood up and gained complete balance before walking out of her bedroom and into the living room.
Siobhan walked sleepily into her kitchen and began rummaging through her fridge for breakfast. Though she wasn’t hungry she felt she needed something in her system, or at least something to drink. With the amount of crying she had been doing in the past DAY alone, she was beginning to feel a little dehydrated.
She opened her cabinets and brought out a glass to pour orange juice in, when she suddenly glanced up and noticed someone sleeping on the couch. She almost screamed from surprise until she noticed it was JC. She finished pouring her glass of OJ and walked over to where he was sound asleep.
Siobhan sat herself on the coffee table beside him and crossed her legs, staring at his sleeping figure. His chest rose and fell in a rhythmic pattern, nostrils slightly flaring when he exhaled. His expression was priceless, calm and with a small smile on his face. Siobhan could tell how tired he was by the creases under his eyes that were visible, even while asleep.
She sipped her OJ and continued to watch JC sleep. She was amazed by the figure lying on her couch and the amount of love and care he held inside of him. His finger alone held more respect for the world around him then ten of Siobhan’s BODIES put together, she envied that trait he held and wondered if she could ever learn to love anyone again.
Her mind suddenly raced back to the night before and she almost blushed from the reminder of his kind and caring words. He was such an amazing person and she still wasn’t sure on how she had managed to entrap him in her life. She then realized she was beginning to wonder how he ended up on her couch, in her apartment. He looked to comfortable to wake up and she didn’t want to disturb him anyway, he needed all the sleep he could get.
A knock on the door suddenly brought Siobhan out of her thoughts. She looked up startled and glanced over to her VCR clock with a puzzled expression. “Who’s coming to visit me so early?” she asked to herself in a low whisper, so as not to wake JC.
She placed her half drunken glass of OJ on the coffee table beside JC’s cell phone and quietly crept to the door, trying not to wake JC up. She opened the door a crack and leap in surprise from the person standing on the other side.
“What the hell...” she trailed off.
“Open up Si, I know he’s there,” Mike said with a smile in his face.
Siobhan was tempted to smack that smile off his face, but gripped the door instead. “Who’s here?” she asked through gritted teeth.
“You know exactly who I’m talking about Si, now let me in so I can see for myself,” he said beginning to push his way into her apartment.
“NO,” she said sternly, pushing him back out. “No one’s here.”
Mike smiled in return and shoved his way into her apartment. He burst into the main room and found JC sleeping on the sofa. Mike smiled to himself and let out a slow and thoroughly amused chuckle.
“Well well, wasn’t is always the girl who was the sleeping beauty? It looks like this fairy tale has changed positions, though I must admit Si, he COULD be a sleeping beauty...” Mike said with a smart smile and a click of his tongue.
He spun around to face her as she glared at him accusingly and angrily. “Now now sweetheart, your just SO unattractive with that look on your face, you don’t want your precious man to see you with that frown, so smile baby.” He cupped her chin in a tight grip and squeezed roughly.
Before Siobhan could respond, there was a soft moan in the back round and both sets of eyes darted over to JC. Mike smiled and Siobhan’s face fell into panic.
“Get out,” she said in a low tone. “Get the hell out NOW!”
“What? No introductions? Now that’s just plain rude to leave so suddenly without exchanging any words,” Mike said letting go of Siobhan’s face and walking towards the couch.
“Please Mike leave...you’ll blow both our covers!” Siobhan pleaded.
JC was now fully coming awake, rubbing his eyes of the access sleep in them. He yawned and stretched, making a low moaning sound along with it. He was bringing his arms back down from his yawn and beginning to open his eyes to look around, when Siobhan quickly grabbed Mike’s arm and swung him towards the door.
“GET OUT!” she whispered harshly. “NOW!”
“Not until we make a deal sweetheart,” he said with a grin.
“Fine, when do you want to meet?” she asked sharply, rushing him towards the door.
“Today at three, I’ll pick you up,” Mike replied with a satisfied smile on his face.
“Fine,” Siobhan quickly agreed.
“Siobhan?” JC asked, trying to look over at her.
Siobhan quickly blocked the view of Mike and shoved him out into the hallway. JC stood up and walked over towards the door, heading for Siobhan and Mike, who were whispering in loud and harsh whispers.
“Siobhan...” JC called again. “Who is that?” he asked, getting closer to the door. “Who’s at the door?”
