1. First time I saw you, you were mirroring me as I sung out on a stage,
Second time I saw you, you were leaning at a bar with me, trying to guess my age;
You said that drinking that wine can get you so high when you got a lover man,
Third time I sang you a love song and you shone shone shone through your city sun tan.

2. It seems so easy when it happens this way, it’s a fools' paradise,
An invitation on a bottle of wine on a Saturday night;
Just like a soldier your plan was so sound, I was your secret agent and we both moved underground,
And when a fantasy comes true for me, like this one, I don’t hang around.

oooooooooooooooooooooooo Flute instrumental over Verse ooooooooooooooooooooooo

3. Last time I saw you, you had just been promoted, another stripe to your page,
You were thinking about my innocence, I was thinking about your middle age;
Let’s face it now we’ve both got our roles, we all got our lessons to learn before we grow old,
Just like a soldier, another medal, another war wound for the bold.
