Pushee-- ( March 18, 21,24, 30, April 5, 8) : Melbourne /JUILIUS CAESAR (Location: The State Theatre, Victorian Arts Centre, St Kilda Road): The Handel triumph continues! Handel's operas are experiencing an international revival of interest as audiences discover the dazzling beauty of the music, the vocal agility and pure sound of the modern countertenor, and the amazing theatricality of baroque opera. Melbourne audiences have revelled in the sheer magic of `Alcina' and `Julius Caesar'. `Julius Caesar' returns with a magnificent cast led by the phenomenal countertenor Graham Pushee again in the title role, with the internationally-acclaimed Yvonne Kenny as Cleopatra. With Christopher Josey as Tolomeo and Fiona Janes as Sesto, this is one of the company's most popular productions.(Source: Opera Australia).

Pushee--- (January 15, 18, 21, 24, 30, February 2, 5, 8) : GIULIO CESARE (Sydney Opera House) / "Pushee delivers this inspired essay in Handelian simplicity and voice-leading perfection with masterful nobility and a full appreciation of the need for contrast of colour and inflection. Lack of variation in vocal colour would be the one general criticism one might make of the remaining strong cast". (Source: Opera Australia).

1999: November 16
Pushee--- (November 19 -December 7 ) : Melbourne /RINALDO : "Last Monday night I attended the Opera Australia performance of "Rinaldo" in Melbourne. The three countetenors involved were Graham Pushee (Rinaldo), James Sanderson (Goffredo) and Tobias Cole (Eustazio). All gave convincing performances, two with greater vocal weight than Emma Matthews (Almirena), who also convinced. While James Sanderson and Tobias Cole were able, due to the nature of their roles, mostly to stand, or perhaps take a couple of steps, while singing, Grahm Pushee sang prone, supine, reclining, doubled over in grief, etc, and often with his hands in front of his face, while maintaining a most impressive consistency of projection, tone quality and musical expression. ......"
