(This will soon be merely the archive of my blog. I am currently moving it to fancier digs over HERE-the new home of Muukii's news blog. You may post responses to what I've put up, so hopefully some debate will be stirred up.)
I don't know how I managed to avoid doing so in the past, but here is the link for MOVE ON.ORG.
If you are not familiar with them, they are one of the best organizations around for opening up lively and productive debate. True champions of democratic reform and constructive change.
I've found some more scary speculation regarding the events of 9/11. Specifically, the fate of Flight 77 (that allegedly crashed into the Pentagon) has been called into question. HERE is the research article by Dick Eastman.
There is some very interesting research going on in the area of visual cognition. It seems "THE FORCE" of "Star Wars" fame may not be such a crazy idea after all. ( THIS LINK will open up an audio file from CBC radio's "Quirks and Quarks".)

Wow, it really has been a while. I hope everyone wasn't hanging around waiting for me to update this thing. The situation has made some interesting turns lately though, so it's REALLY about time. Foremost I suppose is that Canada has a new Prime Minister now, and PM Paul Martin seems to be ernest in his desire to 'patch' realtions with the Bush Administraion. A noble gesture. I just hope it doesn't mean we sign up for his "War on Terror". Which, given the amount of civilians killed so far, amounts to terrorism of its own to a degree. What else is a "Shock and Awe" campaign intended to do? Right: scare & terrorize people.
They've really done a good job at painting themselves into a corner on the WMD issue. David Kay left his post as the head of the inspection team, and he really gave Team Bush quite the parting shot.
"U.S. arms hunter says no Iraq WMD"
I've found some very interesting sites over the past few months that have opened my eyes even further. They are asking the questions and telling the stories that Big Corporate news is afraid to ask.
"The Emperor's New Clothes"
does some great investigative work. I do suggest taking what they have to say with at least a mote of salt. But most of their stuff seems to check out.
"The 911 Dossier"
bills itself as "the uncencored guide to the global war crisis that began with the 911 attacks."
"The Centre for Cooperative Research"
has the most comprehensive timeline available for the events of September 11, 2001. Ultimately, the most damning information out there for the Bush administration.
And lastly,
"Bush in 30 Seconds"
is a site with a bunch of ads aimed at exposing the current Whitehouse' "shortcomings". Some are funny, some are poignant. Definitly worth a look. (thanks for the link CH)
More to come soon, I swear.

So, the evidence continues to mount that the "reasons" for the US attack on Iraq were fraudulent, at best. Here's just one of many articles outlining the debate now raging in Washington.
"U.S. Insiders Say Iraq Intel Deliberately Skewed"
Also, check this shit out...
"Iraq May Have Destroyed Weapons Before War -U.S."
Seems like more of that fishy smell I've been detecting.
Amnesty International isn't very impressed either...
"Amnesty: 'War on Terror' Has Made World Worse"
Well, duh...
And if that wasn't enough, Brian Mulroney has reared his ugly chin again. He just can't resist making an ass of himself and coming out strongly on the wrong side of things. It just goes to show that he'll bend over frontwards for his "American friends". We should just trade him to Washington for a 4th round draft pick and have it over with...

Someone brought the phrase "weapons of mass distraction" to my attention recently. I like it. I like it a lot. Says it all in a nutshell, that.
Here's a coupla links to give you some background on the Georges Bush. They shed some light on why I feel as strongly as I do about them.
"THE UNAUTHORIZED BIOGRAPHY OF GEORGE BUSH" by
Webster G. Tarpley & Anton Chaitkinis a terrifying expose of the history of the whole Bush dynasty. Even if only %20 is real, it's enough to keep ME up nights anyway...
"The Governor's Gusher: The Sources of George W. Bush's $41 Million texas War Chest"
is a little bit of info put together by 'Texans For Public Justice' in January 2000. Have a look at the nuts and bolts of "The Bush Way" of doing business.
...April 16, 2003
Just a quick post-script:
Have they found any weapons of mass destruction yet? hmm... Maybe inspections were working after all. The US sure ran roughshod over the entire country PDQ. Geez, I guess they WERE effectively dis-armed.
A "fictitious President", with "fictitious reasons" perhaps. But a very REAL war.
This update April 14, 2003
Ok. I guess it's time for me to say my say, because I'm still fuming mad, and getting more scared by the day.
This war that the Bush administration in the US has waged is just plain wrong.
I don't mean to say that Saddam Hussein didn't deserve to be removed from power. He did. But not like this. There's obviously a LOT more going on than we are being told, and what I've been able to piece together for myself is quite disturbing.
Everything about the Bush family smells fishy to me, I will admit freely now. So if you're a big supporter of the 'Georges' Bush (both I & II) either stop reading, or prepare to be annoyed.
Let us not forget first of all, that George 'Dub-yas' victory in the 2000 US presidential election was very sketchy, at best. The messy handling of the ballots in the decisive state of Florida (who's guv'ner at the time was brother Jeb, if you recall...) was out-and-out cheating. Bald-faced cheating. It's almost like they said "we're gonna cheat and there's not a damn thing you can do about it". And that unfortunately has been the trend ever since. Based on the slice of the population that actually voted for him, he simply does not have the mandate to wage this war. Yet somehow Team Bush has bullied their way through Congress, and around the UN. International opinion, it seems, matters not.
Forget everything that's on the news everyday. Forget about 'embedded' journalists, the protests (for and against), and the Dixie chicks. The fact is, The US has barged it's way into Iraq, and now has control of the country AND it's resources. Regime change, indeed.
To dismiss the UN in the off-hand fashion displayed by Team Bush, speaks of such arrogance and selfishness that it makes my blood boil. To watch the steam come out of my ears, just mention the treatment that Canada has received since we decided not to join their little coup.
But what frightens me most is what the left hand is doing while CNN watches the right. What's happening in Afganistan? What the hell happened to Dennis Miller? Did they kidnap his family or something? Why are they so quiet (TOO quiet) about Korea lately? Do you hear the sabre-rattling concerning Syria? And most concerning is what is happening in the name of "Homeland Security". This article sums it up best:
(PACIFIC NEWS-night trains).
As you can tell I can go on for a while about all this, and I likely will. But later. That's enough to chew on for now, I think.

So, I went and opened my big, fat mouth; and now winter has bitten us on the ass yet again. Sorry about that. My bad.
Here's another link for you. This is very good op/ed piece from
THE MIAMI HERALD - in my opinion!
This update April 2, 2003
As promised, here's a few links to give you something else besides CNN for perspective:
THE ONION is one my favorite humour sites. This article is funny,
VERY biting, and poignant.
PACIFIC NEWS gets an amazing array of writers in.
They seem to represent a greater cross-section of society than any other single news source.
THE GUARDIAN is well known as an alternative news source.
This gives a slightly different angle on the folks in LA & Hollywood.
THE CBC is still my favorite source.
Always up to date, and yes, a little to the left of centre.;)
Though I wouldn't exactly call it an 'alternative' source.
