DARKEST HOUR
So Sedated, So Secure

Well damn, this is fucking good. Not as Metal as their older shit, it kinda has the Victory Records Hardcore feel to it, but still, it is fucking amazing. I am so glad they sent it to me. I was waiting to hear these guys after Victory signed em, cause these guys are one of my favorite bands, and I just wanted to check out how much they were probably going to suck after getting signed to a Hardcore label. But surprise, they still are amazing. Definetly go get this muthafucka when it comes out. xxx

MINUS
jesus christ bobby

Victory Records just sent me this cd, and all I really have to say is...: gross. This is on of the worse bands I have ever heard come off of Victory. Eww. If you like em, more power to you. But I have to say they blow donkeys. xxx

NO INNOCENT VICTIM
Tipping The Scales - (www.sdhxc.com) xxx

So I was sent the new NIV album yesterday from Victory Records (www.victoryrecords.com), and I must say, "this is the best release by these guys ever!" It is so freakin tuff. 11 songs of great mosh. This is their toughest release to date. It is released on May 22, 2001. So go get it or miss one of the toughest releases of the summer.

THURSDAY
Full Collapse

Well, Victory Records just sent me the new Emo addition to Victory's roster of bands. Thursday is their name. Now these guys are freaking great!. I was expecting some sick crappy punk band, but no, this band is actually a great band. They even have Emo breakdowns. Haha. Which are great! Everyone go out on April 10, 2001 and pick up this cd, it is definetly worth it. Thanks to Victory Records for the promo copy. (www.victoryrecords.com)

POINT OF RECOGNITION
Refresh Renew - (www.wreckinthangs.com)

Holy Crap! So Facedown Records sends me the new Point of Recognition cd. So I am kinda iffy about it. I mean. Jason leaves the band. So now just Aaron singing. And I do love his voice. But him alone? I don't know. So I put it in my cd player. And holy crap. This album amazes me. Tight breakdowns. Way more then the first album. I mean, everything is a breakdown. The vocals are a lot better then the first release. The only bad thing about this album is the vocal recordings are too low. You can't really hear them that well. Kinda reminds me of 'Day of Mourning,' tight breakdowns, but hard to hear vocals. But still, this cd is so good. I recommend this to everyone. In my opinion, it contains a lot less Metal and way more brutal Hardcore that will get the dance floor amovin! Check it out if you can. Thanxxx to Jason and Virginia Dunn over at Facedown Records for the promo copy. (www.facedownrecords.com) xxx

ANCHOR
Shipwrecked Life

So here it is. Another band that contains the whole "multiple band" crew. Dan Quiggle singing, and the rest of the gang. But you think to yourself, another 'Shockwave,' 'Dodgin Bullets,' 'xDisciplex Ad?' HAH! Totally wrong. This band is totally different. Ok, so if you have heard 'Dodgin Bullets' then this will kinda sound familiar to you. On both albums of 'Dodgin Bullets' some of the songs are kinda full of Punk Rock. Dan kinda singing. A mixture of Punk and really old school Hardcore. Well, yea, that is 'Anchor.' I am not the biggest fan of the sound, but I have to admitt that it gets me singing. This band is full of energy. Melodic vocals, and tons of sing along parts. If you can, pick up this album from Facedown Records. Thanxxx again to Jason and Virginia Dunn at Facedown Records for the promo copy. ANTHEM BOY
Demonstration - (www.anthemboy.net)

I know it is a little late, but I just got the cd. But here it is. Anthem Boy takes off where their last band left off, 'Horizon' that is, they decided to end 'Horizon' and start something better. And they definetly accomplished what they had set out to do. 'Anthem Boy' is a Straight Edge band from Indianapolis Indiana. Don't let the state get you down, haha, these guys rock out. This demo is definetly something to purchase. It only has 3 songs, but is also only 3 bucks. These guys have meaningful lyrics, but with tight ass MOSH. The first song especially, it is about a 15 year old girl that is raped. And Chris knows this girl, and wrote the song about her. There is also a song about Chris' (vocalist) father and grandfather serving in the "Armed Forces." This song is about following in the "footsteps" of your Father that has faught in a war, to obtain freedom, etc. This is a good release. I can't wait for more from these guys. xxx

A LIFE ONCE LOST
Open Your Mouth For the Speechless, In Case of Those Appointed to Die - (www.loudnet.com/alifeoncelost)

'A Life Once Lost' is one of the most brutal bands I have ever come across. The are from Philly PA and can tear shit up. These guys are so sick. They rock the fucking house. I just saw these guys a few weeks ago, and it was incredible. All I can say is get the cd. And then thank me. Cause you will definetly want to suck me. Hehe. xxx

THROWDOWN
you don't have to be blood to be family - (www.xthrowdownx.com)

Holy Shit! These guys make you want to fucking start dancing in your sleep. I just got this new album of their's and it blows me away. Breakdowns everywhere. And Keith (vocalist) says shit like, "go, rock" and "fuck, move that shit." So anyways. Go get the album or get kicked. xxx

UNEARTH
The Stings of Conscience - (www.unearth.tv)

Again, I say, "Holy Shit!" These guys are one of my favorite bands ever. Their first ep is really good. And then I purchased the new full length and shit my pants. These guys have more breakdowns then any band put together. Kick ass breakdowns at that, not your usually chugachuga shit, but some kick ass MOSH. And then they pull out some fucking awesome ass solo shit which will remind you of 'Undying.' So again, go get this album, or get kicked. xxx

UNTIL THE END

Three words: Straight Edge Militance. Examply of those 3 words: "Put the barrel down your throat, pull the fucking trigger, CHOKE." This is a song about people who smoke. So again, go get this album from Equal Vision Records (equalvision.com) and then MOSH away. xxx

EARTH CRISIS
Last of the Sane - (www.earthcrisis.cc)

I was just sent the new Earth Crisis album, with all the covers of bands such as The Misfits - Black Sabbath - Led Zepplin - and others, and a few old songs of theirs, and I will have to say I am a little dissopointed by the work done by Earth Crisis. I mean, considering what they used to put out, this new shit - Slither and after - kinda pisses me off. I mean, the old songs like Broken Foundation, etc. on this album are great songs, and from what I heard are the original version, the other songs are lame. Karl does all his singing on this album of course. Haha. But they don't cover the songs in the normal Earth Crisis sound, it is the same fucking thing as if you were listening to it on the original bands album. But oh well, it has the original version of Earth AD by the Misfits which is the fucking raddest song. It isn't the greatest Earth Crisis album, but if you are diehard ExC fan, and paid the money to get Slither, I don't see any reason for you to not pay to get this one. All in all, it isn't bad, especially if you don't have anything that has Earth AD on it. It still has Earth Crisis covering Black Sabbath and Led Zepplin!! Can't get much better than that. I think the album would be better if the songs were done in old Firestorm type Earth Crisis. But it is a decent album. Thanxxx to Victory for the promo copy.
Go to www.victoryrecords.com and check out everything you could want to know about them, rocking out since '89... xxx

GRADE
The Embarrassing Beginning - (www.grade.net)

Well, Victory Records (www.victoryrecords.com) just sent me the new Grade album just released on Victory. And I have to say, it is a damn good album. All of their old stuff that was released before they were signed to Victory was great stuff. But once they were signed to Victory, in my opinion, sucked. But with this album, which is some old stuff, and some new stuff, it is really good.
I actually listened to it the first day about 3 times. I definetly recommend getting this album. It is really worth the 15 bucks or what ever you pay for it. Great music.
I wish there would be a little more of the Emo Grade we all know and love, but it is mostly Metal, but still kicks ass!
There are like two acoustic songs that are great! And like one Emo song. The rest is pure Metal. A great cd. Go buy it. Thanks to Matt at Victory for the copy. xxx
