Rhythms in Mendelssohn's Wedding March
 

       The major rhythmic components for this are as follows:
        -            Half notes
        -            Quarter notes
        -            Eighth notes
        -            Sixteenth notes
        -            Dotted eighth notes
        -            Quarter note triplets

Mendelssohn uses the opening quarter note triplet rhythm as as fanfare to bring the crowds attention for the recessional after the wedding in Mendelssohn's "A Midsummer Nights Dream"
