Scavengerman (Revisited)
The reason for the (Revisited) in the title of this song, is that this is the second song I've written called "Scavengerman." A "scavengerman" refers to guys who befriend girls who are either on the verge of break ups or in bad relationships, or have just broken up with their boyfriends. I guess that type of character annoys me to have made me write two songs about it. Anyway, here it is.
Scavengerman (Revisited)
John D. Parker
You're a knight in shining armor, riding your white horse in to save the day.
Perpetually sensitive you always know just the right words to say.
To try to pick up the pieces, when romance starts to fray.
And see if there might be a piece for you, if I was out of the way.
But you need to step off son, I'm wise to your game.
I too have tried before to do much the same.
All it gets you is hurt, in every possible way.
(Catch my drift??)
So heed my warning now my friend, before it becomes too late.
Chorus
I've seen your kind a few times in my life.
Circling around the carcass of a love floundering in strife.
And you think this is the way you're gonna get to score.
But the truth is you're just a rebound and you get no points on your headboard.
She'll just see you as a friend and you'll go back home with your right hand.
Get a clue and some game, quit tryin' to be some scavengerman.
You believe you're doing her a favor, at least that what you try to tell yourself.
But you and I know what you're up to, it's for your own special help.
And you keep dreamin' I am gonna stand here, and let you just move on in.
Think you'll charm your way into her heart with empathy and some doors opened.
Repeat Chorus
