"INTO THE MILLENNIUM"

Video Review

Fellow Backstreet Fans,
I have a favor to ask of you. Last night on New Year's Eve, the Backstreet Boys' world premiere video was show on MTV. "Show Me The Meaning of Being Lonely" was premiered around 10:00 p.m. I was fortunate enough to be watching when it premiered. I am the type of person who often keep their emotions bottled up inside. I have been that way ever since I lost my grandmother to heart failure two years ago. Since then, often when I was upset, the only thing that could keep me steady was the BSB. Through their music, and their own personal obstacles, they have given me the courage to live my life the way I want to live it. Without holding my emotions in all the time, and without putting on a facade. When I witnessed the premiere last night, it helped to me better understand why I often keep my emotions bottled up. Within the four minute span of that music video, I understood myself better. Maybe it's because I can relate to Brian's part. He underwent surgery, not knowing what the outcome would be. I did the same.

Maybe it was because I could relate to AJ. Being lonely. Or maybe it's because for the most part, I related to Kevin. Reliving the times with his father, and in my case grandmother, and reflecting back on what it was like to have them around.

But most of all, having the five of them walking down what in my mind was a street full of sorrow and despair, to a better place, a place where they could be at peace, was the most meaningful.

I have never quite understood why the BSB mean so much to me. Now I think I do. They mean so much to me beacause they live their lives in the spotlight without complaining about it. They live their lives without malice. And most of all, they live their lives with the an amazing amount of courage.

It's true they've chosen their destiny so to speak, and they handle it very well. I just hope that they can know what making a four minute video can mean to those who look up to them the most. The fans.

Now I ask that if you all feel the same way I do, to please contact me using the e-mail link on the main page, and also vote for the new video. Let's make it number one, where it belongs.

KTBSPA,
Elizabeth -GravitySingerLiz@cs.com
