Chapter Eight-The Plan
It was getting closer and closer to Christmas break. Only two days left. Sirius, Remus and James were all sitting in the common room working on Charms homework.
“What is the point of knowing how to make hair grow fast?” Remus asked.
“Don’t know but I do have something to show you guys.” Sirius said. He ran up to the dormitory. He came back down with something in his hand.
“What is that?” James asked.
“ReakRotts,” Sirius said smiling.
“What?” Remus said, confused.
“You haven’t heard of them yet.” Sirius said surprised. “They are new.”
“What do they do?” Remus asked.
“Well you put them somewhere and point your wand at them and say reakalot and they let out a disgusting more than disgusting smell.” Sirius said.
“Where’d you get them?” James asked.
“I bought them off a fifth year Gryffindor. His name is Arthur Weasley.” Sirius replied.
“Wait I’ll be right back.” James said and he bolted upstairs. When he got to his trunk he opened it and started pulling things out. Finally at the very bottom he found what he was looking for. A pack of ten Zonko’s Amazin Leapin Firecrackers. James came down stairs leapt of the last five and went over to his friends. “Look at these” James said and he showed them the Firecrackers.
“Awesome!” Sirius said.
“Now we need a plan.” Remus said.
“We’re going to have to get Severus really bad.” Sirius said.
“Yeah and all the Slytherins.” James said.
“And Perrel.” Remus said.
“And some innocent people.” all three said this at the same time.
“Why don’t we put some nasty tasting every flavor jelly beans in the Slytherins food too.” Remus said laughing.
“And we could put the hair growing spell on some people like Severus.” James said.
“How about we do all the planning tomorrow night because right now I am really tired and I want to go to bed.” Remus said.
“Oh no I hope your not getting sick again,” Sirius said joking.
So the three got up and went off to bed.
The next day went very slowly. All James could think about was what Remus Sirius and himself were going to do over vacation.
Finally when the last bell of the day rang Professor McGonagal told the Gryffindors, “Those who wish to stay for the Holidays must come and sign up.” Lily and Peter ignored the sign up and walked off. But James, Sirius and Remus all went up to sign the sheet.
After dinner the three went up into the and empty corner in the common room. “Ok I almost have the whole thing planned out,” James said.
“Here it goes... So first these pranks are going to go on Sunday today is Friday so we have one day to prepare. We will start in the morning and end in the evening. In the morning we will be hiding in the great hall. When Severus walks by we will stop him by letting loose three Firecrackers. Then Remus you will sneak up behind him and drop a Reakrott in his bag. Then after breakfast we are going to have to go into the kitchens but I don’t know how.” James was interrupted.
“Kitchens I know how to get into them.” A brown haired boy said. “I’m Arthur Weasley. All you have to do is tickle the pear on the portrait of fruit and it will open.”
“Thanks,” Remus said.
“Don’t mention it,” Arthur said walking off.
“Ok so we’ll go into the kitchens and put nasty flavored jelly beans in the Slytherins food. Then after that we will sneak down into the dungeons and put some reakrotts in Perrel’s room. Then we go and watch the Slytherins get sick from their lunch. After lunch we go take a break in the common room. When there is about ten minutes until dinner we will go sneak down and hide in the great hall and when people start walking by we will start sending hair grow spells at them. Then I will sneak behind the teachers table and wait for the hall to fill. Then I’ll let loose the last eight Firecrackers. And that is it.” James said.
“This is going to be so cool.” Remus said. So the three went off to bed.
