look around
what do you see
you see a million people trying to be
you try and stay friends
through the hard times
a circle, like a family

fire and ice
water and rain
take a chance to feel through the pain
think your thoughts
and never move an inch
‘till you realize you’ve got nothing to gain

you find it harder to do
than anything you’ve ever done before

why can’t time
stay where it is
so it doesn’t come to things like this
it’s hard to let go
and not to think about
the things that i have grown to miss

long ago
and in a better town
you always had the time to be around
nowadays
i see your growing cold
you try to run away and let me down

you find it harder to do
than anything you’ve ever done before

if moving on
means moving out of this
i wouldn’t do it for the world

now i gaze
through the dragons jaws
and feel the reality of my loss
reaching out
isn’t going to help
it isn’t even worth the cost

which of us
had it all before
but couldn’t see what was in store
