The Chapters Special
- Iced Tea
- 2 Sopipias (a new Mexican bread)
- 2 chicken enchiladas
- 2 rellenos
- rice and pinto beans as a side dish
- bourbon street torte
Chapters is always a dining fancy. The sweet almost dessert like features of the sopipias blended with the eye watering burning of wonderfully aromatic rice, creates a sensation of a being "high". In contrast the Bourbon street Torte was wonderful, but was almost a little to on the "Here's a bunch of chocolate that we had left over and put it together with a bunch of other stuff" side. I think that you can tell the quality of a place by the Iced Tea. The "Iced" Tea was warm and had a "from a powder" texture. Not the best Tea I have ever had. Chapters once again has caught my sights as a great dining institution where families can get together and whine about how spicy their meal is. (bring out the tums)
Cinnamon City
The wonderful aroma of baked goods caught my nose as I was shopping with my good friend Riley at "The Great Canadian Stupidstore" (superstore). I thought to myself " I think that I will buy a bun and eat it". That I did and the wonderful taste of spices and bread filled my mouth. I thought that the inside must be uncooked because that is the way most cinnamon buns are. Not these ones. The bun was superb. Not too much spice but enough that I could taste it before it was engulfed by my mouth. The Icing was a wonderful blend of icing and what I think was cream cheese. Wonderful. Go eat a Bun there and make noises while you eat then tell them that Duddy Kravitz sent you here.
McDonald's
I will every so often write about my meal of the month.
This month it has to be the McChicken. Not the fries cause they burn my lips and it hurts a lot but the actual burger and a Banana shake (just for you Ian [he hates bananas]). The burger, think of a nice plump chicken living in a big house where it is fed steroids and grain until it is nice and round then it is murdered in cold blood for its breasts (what a sick world we live in). The Shake, a mouth watering gulp of synthetic oil made to be like milk (or mabye its real milk).
On Wednesday July 12th I entered a contest with Sara from youth group. AnnaB and Tina Hunter and A guy named Rus came to watch to mortals eat burgers that would make you imortal by killing you. This contest was too see who could the most burgers. I had had a farly large dinner so I was still quite full when Sara told me we were going to do this contest. We had been planning this for some time now but I wanted to starve myself for a time to make my stomich really empty then I could inhale alot of burgers. It was cheap day for burgers at McRaunchy's so I bought my self 10 suculent juicy burgers as well as a SUPERSIZED iced tea to make the burgers go down nice. Sara also bought 10 burgers and a regular Iced tea. Sara started to eat before I got my order because the person doing window kept stealing my burgers to give to people in there cars. When I had finally got my order Sara had already eatin 3 burgers. I had alot of catching up to do. No problem for Chef Boyardee. I had finished my 5th burger I think when I started feeling gross and the burgers started tasting like @$%# or gross stuff. Sara started to looking green around #6. We made barf bags just incase we had to puke or somthing. I finally finished my 6th burger when I felt really gross and then I burped. Its amazing what expelling gas can do for your body. Then I went on to eat 8 burgers. Iam proud to say I am the champion cause sara could only eat 7.75 burgers. So the male race is still the champions at eating stuff. On the way Home Sara was seriously going green. When somone cannot sit in a chair with out moaning they are in serious trouble.
Had enough yet?
Milestones
- Iced Tea
- Chocolate Banana Baked Bread Pudding (the title filled me up)
Lovely aromas surrounded me as I went to the john(or the bathroom) and I couldn't believe that I was getting a desert and not a rack of ribs or a 21oz. steak. The first 2 glasses of Iced Tea were amazing. I actually tasted the tea that was present in the Iced Drink. I didn't get any sugar particles stuck in my teeth like I had at previous restaurants. I highly recommend this establishment for Iced Tea as well as cool little booths to sit in while you eat. Yum Yum.
