vok 1-99 (cdr from pigdog recordings)
i decided to rewrite the review for this, cos i thought the old one didn't really do this release justice, and anyway i was bored. so, this is ninety-nine tracks of all types of sound manipulation from the UK noise team of vok, ranging in length from only a few seconds to eight minutes [22, one of the better ones in my opinion, drudging unstructured squelchy noise with odd distorted voices, i think]. tracks range in sound from incredibly abrasive to quiet and sparse, with two brief tracks of gabber sounding beats [66 and 70]. some tracks, while still being distinctive of themselves, seem to combine with other tracks to form larger pieces [put it on shuffle after listening to it a few times and you'll realize how much]. a very interesting and experimental release, and one which made reconsider how songs should be constructed. i listened to this three time in a row when i first got it, and so will you.
