su pollard deconstructions: a tribute cdr (cdr from nCr)
i have no idea who su pollard is. one night while i was making my rounds to various noise related websites i followed a link to this page. that is where i learned everything i would ever really want to know about su, which is this: su pollard recorded some really shitty songs and put out an album. so i downloaded some, listened to them and then submitted a remix, coincidentally of the same track as v/vm, "starting together". guess who's mix is better? (psst- it's not mine, dummy.) "the why you'll never make a yellow coat remix" by the aforementioned v/vm takes the original and makes it sound incredibly weird and somewhat creepy, the vocals and music are lower and wavery, just weird and completely great. there are plenty of great remixes on this cd, some for their humor and some just really good tracks. a favorite in the latter category is the bess keloid "never thought i'd be losing you" remix, which has a very nice autechre- or lesser-ish sound to it at the start. there's some good stuff here, worth checking out.
