KLÄNG #3 (cd from fognin and one brain)
rather than just talk about doing an ongoing compilation series, some people actually do them, and keep doing them. klang 3 gets back to the spirit of the first installment, with mostly shorter, much more experimental tracks then number 2. most of the 55 tracks are under a minute long, nice bite size sonic bits, which makes the second to last track "float" by takanobu hoshino (clocking in at 31 minutes) stick out and seem aggravatingly static; although it does have some interesting sounds it certainly couldn't have hurt to cut it down a bit. tracks come from all over the globe, and sound just as varied. personal standouts at the moment are a dissonant piano piece "agatha 2" by rafs dziminsky and the abstract noise "schoner 113" by RLW, but there is really no shortage of interesting stuff on this disc. another excellent offering from the excellent series.
