joshua norton cabal fucked physical examination (3"cdr from hospital productions)
before i say anything about the  sound of this, i have to say that this release has great packaging. it comes in a circular cardboard case like the top cover of a carton of ice cream, with the cd held inside by a cardboard disc fitting neatly into the cover. nothing really crazy looking, just excellent simple packaging. but anyway, on to the actual recording itself.. this seems to be a single track divided into five parts, although it could just as well be five seperate tracks that haven't been divided up on the cd (i could also be overthinking it). whatever is the case, this is very engaging for it's fourteen minutes, shifting abruptly from quiet outer space moments to more aggressive, more complex blasts. all of harsh bits seem to have at least five things going on at once and as i listen to it more (it's on infinite repeat as i write this) i notice more detail. the quieter spots in contrast are (slightly) more sparse, with a feeling of tension considering what came before and what will probably come after. and then it's over, at least once you take it off repeat, and i probably will after a while. couple more spins.
