dorian gray mousa afelkai (c30, self released)
i got this free from the guy himself after seeing a post on alt.noise that said 'free tapes' or something like that, and of course i can't pass up free stuff, so i wrote him and got a copy. so anyway, what this is, i think, is heavily distorted bass and bright metal percussion, each separated to their own channel of a stereo signal, which really emphasizes the difference of the sounds and also the sound quality of the percussion side, which is really clear [especially for a free tape]. some odd sounds float in and out of the bass side, like there is some signal bleed through the distortion setup and maybe it's picking up radio signals or something.. whether intentional or not it sounds pretty interesting. later on some foreign dialogue that i didn't understand, french i think. fifteen minutes, repeated on the second side. not bad. what more can i say?
