brody

José "Brody" Martinez was born in
Puerto Rico and moved to Orlando in
the '80s. On the first day of his senior
year in high school, surrounded by
unfamiliar faces in an unfamiliar town,
he decided to take a chance and join
the school choir. His natural talent
quickly made Brody a stand-out: He's
been singing ever since, and prides
himself on the diligence with which he
works to perfect his skills.

Short Answer:

Q Who is the most influential person in your life and why?

A My father is the most influential person in my life. He's always
set me on the right path. And, he's always--no matter how nasty
I've been--been in my corner.

Q Who is the person you most want to meet and why?

A My mother. She died when I was five and I have always dreamt
about knowing her better. I wish I would have had more time with
her.

Q What are your hobbies?

A Baseball, basketball, football, reading comics, writing music,
playing the piano, interacting with people, dating, kissing.

Q Who is your hero and why?

A Roberto Clemente would have to be my hero because he died
trying to help others. He was a great baseball player, a great
talent, but most of all, he was a great human being.

Q You are stuck on a desert island. What three things would you
bring and why?

A I would bring my glasses so I could see, my toothbrush so my
breath wouldn't stink, and my best friend Mariama so I would have
someone to chill with. If I had a fourth choice, I'd pick toilet paper.

Q What is your heritage?

A On my father's side is straight Puerto Rican. On my mother's
side is half Cherokee Indian, and I think maybe English.

Q To you , what is the most important thing in a relationship?

A Trust! Without trust, there's nothing. I like having total trust with
my partner. I like knowing that we can tell each other anything
and not play the "secret game."

Q What musical instruments do you play?

A I play some piano. I tried the guitar, but for some reason, my
fingers didn't like playing it.

Q Describe your perfect Christmas gift:

A My perfect Christmas gift would be having my family all
together so we could just party all night.

Q What magazines do you read?

A Sports Illustrated, Baseball Digest, Maxim, Rolling Stone,
Billboard, Spin

Q Describe your perfect date.

A My perfect date would be catching a play at the theater, then
having a nice dinner, then going on a yacht and watch the sunset.

Q What is the weirdest rumor you've heard about yourself?

A Someone said I had two left feet. They said I couldn't dance.
