The Treatment
Chapter 2
The conversation went on for about an hour as they enjoyed themselves, laughing and flirting. They talked about her living in a small town, his growing up on stage, the long tour schedules, her new place and job. He put her at such ease, she lost track of time until she realized she was starved.
Leigh looked at the clock on the desk just as her stomach growled. It was nearing 9:30. "You hungry?" Nick asked. "I know there must be something in the fridge here... unless you want to go out somewhere." He got up and began to walk over to the fridge again.
"We can go somewhere, if you want", Leigh said. She didn't care where it was at this point, she was so hungry.
"Great! I know this fantastic pizza shop open late down around the corner. You do like pizza, right?"
"Of course I do! I only like plain cheese though, sorry."
"Perfect! Same here." Nick gave her a big grin and motioned for her to go through the door ahead of him.
They started to walk to the elevator when Leigh remembered the reason she came in the first place. "The treatment! I must have left it in my car! Nick, I'm sorry."
"Baby I'll give you a treatment anytime" Nick said under his breath, watching her walk ahead of him down the hallway.
"What'd you say? I didn't hear you." Leigh turned her head back in Nick's direction, smiling.
"Um, I said we can get that treatment anytime. Let's get some food into us first, ok?" He nervously ran his fingers through his hair, smiling back at Leigh.
"Sure." They waited for the elevator, which from what they could see was on the twelfth floor and rising. She could feel him standing closeby, the soft smell of his cologne. Jesus he was amazing. It hit her just then who he was and she turned around to find him merely inches behind her.
"Nick? Nick CARTER, Nick?"
"In the flesh", he smiled the Carter grin he was so well known for. The intensity in the air grew thicker as he leaned in a little closer. The smell of Gravity grew stronger, and her heart began to race because he was so close. His face was just inches from hers.
She shrugged off her thoughts and continued, turning her head to look back at the elevator. Almost there..."I thought you looked familiar, I guess I didn't realize it until just now."
"I hope you're not going to get all silly on me now", he said as he rested his arm on the wall, blocking her in on one side.
"Of course not, I just didn't recognize you right away. I'm not a screaming fan, don't worry."
"Oh? Not a fan huh?" There was a small look of disappointment in his eyes and he started to pout. He drew his arm back.
"Well, I didn't mean it that way", the pout started to disappear from his face. "I just meant I'm not an obsessed little teenager. I know the music, and even own a few of the CD's. You feel better now, ya big baby?" She reached and gave him a light punch on his arm, trying to relieve the tension.
He grinned again, "Yeah, I guess so. I'm really glad you like it." He leaned back in, arm back against the wall, his blue eyes piercing hers.
Just then the elevator rang, signaling it was about to hit their floor. The doors opened and Leigh quickly turned around, obviously flushed, stepped inside and pressed the lobby button. Nick followed close behind.
