Now for my bit!
Well, why did I make a Blur site?
The first Blur song I heard was "Parklife". I was in my uncle's car, stuck in traffic in the middle of Croydon. My uncle & aunt were arguing. My two baby cousins were seated in the back, between my other cousin & I. They were crying their little hearts out. The noise was giving me a bloody awful headache. Then came a deafening shout from my uncle, "I've 'ad enough of this!" The radio was switched on. The chirpy chorus blared out of the speakers... #All the people, So many people...# My uncle & aunt stopped arguing. My baby cousins quit crying. My other cousin & I gave a sigh of relief...
Blur are quite simply the best and most talented band of today, as their latest album "13" shows. From "Tender" to "Optigan 1", it's a work of art which stands in comparison with every record ever made (well, at least, perhaps that's just what I believe). But the band are not only a success together, as Damon's appearance in the excellent "Face" and Graham's beautiful solo album "The Sky Is Too High" prove.
I'm obssessed with this band. I've got as many records as I can find, my walls are adorned with posters & I've even been able to convert a solid Oasis fan (which is probably one helluva lot easier than I actually know). Being a Net fan, a web site was the obvious progression. But one slight problem: no decent computer. So I started an RSA IT Skills course at NACRO who run "Sorted?" magazine ( a Brighton-based youth publication where I've been a part-time contributor since the age of eleven), which involved surfing, e-mails & web design. A good excuse to learn the FrontPage program & to be shown how to build a simple site of my subject choice...
So here I am. This ain't exactly flash, hi-tech or even exciting, is it? In fact, I'd go so far to say it's even pretty crap. But it's a start & I'm gonna try to improve it whenever I get half a chance. So bear with me please! It's only a click away so keep checking this out. Also sign my guestbook if you can, telling everybody how well I'm doing! (It'll trick everybody else into thinking that the site's ten times better than it really is!)
