If you don't have any All Star United CDs, Smash Hits is the place to start. Chances are, if you don't have any of ASU's CDs, you aren't that big of a fan. But ASU has come up with a great CD to get you started or hold you over if you are a big ASU fan. If you are a big ASU fan, you'll have to get this CD!
Smash Hits contains 13 songs from their other 2 CDs; plus, 2 new songs, making it worth the $15. Although some of the songs from the other CDs are exact copies, some of them are re-mixes, as well, which adds a little variety for owners of the first 2 CDs. The 2 new songs, Hang On and Baby Come Back, are some of ASU's best work and may be enough to keep fans happy while they wait for ASU's next CD. These 2 new songs are similar to some of the other ASU songs, as they stick with the same catchy music and funny lyrics. Well, I think the lyrics are funny, at least, but I haven't been able to read the lyrics yet, as they didn't come with the CD (yes, really). But how long will this CD keep you going? The truth is, if you have the other 2 CDs, I don't think you'll be listening to Smash Hits any longer than a month (maybe longer for big fans). But don't get me wrong; it is definitly worth $15. The only other thing this CD could've used, besides more new songs, would be the lyrics. I really would like to know exactly what they're singing. Actually, it is fairly easy to hear the words; I just don't see why they didn't include lyrics. Basically, you can't go wrong with Smash Hits. It's a great addition to anyone's music library, even if you don't like Christian music much. ASU's songs are a lot of fun for Christians and non-Christians alike.
