House In Order
We had Eden but we lost it.
We had Jordan 'till we crossed it.
We had music.
It distorted
and the news was not reported.
Yes, the surface has been dappled.
There's a worm within the apple
and we must redraw the borders
when we put our house in order.
There's no passport, there's no limit.
Still, there's those who won't get with it.
Turn their backs and turn their collars
just to serve the mighty dollar.
But it's time to trade your profit
for your ass and then get off it.
There's a changing of the warders
when we put our house in order.
It's so hard to buck the ocean
but we drown in our devotion
and our talents lie in slumber
'neath this hill of junk we're under.
But we find our true vocations
in the strangest situations
and we'll come out of the corner
when we put our house in order.
Now the train sits at the station
and the planet's grown impatient.
Evolution's at the stoplight
and it's going to be a long night.
But consider this your warning
'cause the change comes in the morning
and we're gonna turf the borders
when we put our house in order.
