For this website, I did the pictures galleries, the wallpapers galleries, the ring tones and the midi parts. After doing the parts, Weihan and Lixing edited them to make them to look more professional and presentable. For both the pictures and wallpapers galleries, there are a total of 90 pictures and 25 wallpapers. At first. I thought of using notepad to do the html file for the pictures galleries but I found that it is too tedious and difficult to do as there are too many pictures. So I thought of using Dreamweaver would be an easier and faster way. There is a function in Dreamweaver entitled “Create Web Photo Album “under the “commands” column. This function enables the pictures to be arranged in thumbnails form to give viewers a convenient way to view the pictures at one go. So I clicked on “Create Web Photo Album”, a window will pop out asking u to type in some information.

After that, another program Macromedia Fireworks 4 will do the arrangement, arranging the pictures in thumbnails form. An advantage of

using Dreamweaver to arrange the pictures in thumbnails form is that we do not need to create an individual html file for each of the pictures as the program will automatically create a html file for each of the picture. So this save the time for creating html files especially when there are so many picture files. If there is a need to edit anything, we can edit it from the html file using either the notepad or Dreamweaver. I did the same for the wallpapers galleries by using Dreamweaver. As for the ringtones webpage, I used notepad to do. Applying the techniques taught by Mr Anand, I found it very useful to do page using the notepad. I used the table method to place one ringtone in one column. Subsequently, I did the same for the other ringtones as well. The background picture was not very colorful, I used a much plainer background intead.There are a total of 18 ringtones which I gathered most of them from this website <www.melodyland.net>. Weihan added special effect on the cursor by which there is a name (Jay Chou) circling around the cursor wherever the cursor are placed. For the midi webpage, I also used notepad to do the html file. I gathered some midi files and placed them in the page.

 

Learning Process

 

I found that I have benefited a lot from this assessment. At first, when I started doing a website, it was a little hard as we only learnt how to use html format to create a website. With the knowledge of Dreamweaver and flash, we have a lot of alternatives and are able to create a more enhancing website. It is fun actually to learn how to make a website especially in this assessment, it is the most professional website I have made and seen. At first I am not very familiar with Dreamweaver, but through this assessment, I have better knowledge of Dreamweaver.Knowing how to create thumbnails pictures galleries. Of course, I not only learnt the stuffs that teacher have taught, I have also learn something extra from this resourceful website<www.w3schools.com>
