Date and Walnut Bars ( Tea-Coffee-Time / Desserts )

1 1/2 cups chopped dates
2 tbsp butter
1/2 can of 397g sweetened condensed milk
2 tbsp golden syrup
1/2 cup coconut shredded
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
3 cups biscuit crumbs
50 g Dark Cooking Chocolate

Combine the dates, butter, Condensed milk and golden syrup in a medium saucepan. Cook over a moderate heat, stirring constantly, for about 5 minutes or until the dates are soft. Remove from the heat. Stir in the coconut, walnuts and sufficient biscuit crumbs to make a firm mixture. Blend thoroughly. Press the mixture into a lightly greased tin. Place the chocolate in a bowl. Bring a small quantity of water to the boil in a saucepan. Remove from the heat. Place the bowl of chocolate firmly on top. Stir while the chocolate melts. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the date mixture. Refrigerate until set, then cut into bars.
