Custard Slices ( Desserts )
200 g puff pastry, thawed
for custard filling
450 ml skimmed milk
4 tbsp sugar
3 tbsp cornflour
2 egg yolks
for glace
60 g sugar, powdered
juice of 1 lemon

Preheat oven to 220'C. Roll out pastry to a 24 x 20 cm. retangle on a floured surface. Cut nto 6 rectangles. Bake for 15 minutes, or until pastry is puffed up and golden. Cool. Now to prepare the filling, mix all the ingredients and stir cook over medium low heat till it thickens. Cool, then chill for 30 minutes. To prepare the glace, gradually add lemon juice to the sugar, beating well. Carefully split in half each pastry along the layers. Spread custard fillng on bottom half of pastry and top with the other half. Drizzle glace over the pastry.
Makes 6 servings.
