MONDO EXHIBIT ROOMS
(Last Updated: 17 March 2008)
ROOM ONE
Welcome to Mondo Exhibit Room One, which shows all the Mondos in the first series. This page was formerly called “Personal Mondo Collection”, and indeed, the Mondos in this exhibit are all in my own collection. I bought my first Mondos on 22 October 2000 after discovering them in my local New World supermarket, and was instantly hooked. On that first day, I only bought two, getting Eric and Lucien, but the following day I returned and bought another dozen. And so I embarked upon a new collecting hobby. Within less than a week of commencing my Mondo collection, I created this Web site. The site first went online at midnight on 27 October 2000. Below you will find the Mondos in my own collection. If you want to see a list of all Mondo figurines and cards that have been available, please visit the Reference List. But to see what’s in my own collection, just scroll on down the page! Before you check it out though, please note that the collection is broken down first by series, then Epoch, then divided between figurines and cards. Figurines are ordered according to their serial number (given on the base), while cards are ordered alphabetically by their headline in bold.
Now that the official Mondo site has changed the names of most of the figurines (or perhaps I should say, reverted back to their original names), I have decided to incorporate the new names in this section. The Mars name will be given first, as that is what most collectors are still familiar with, followed by the Vizargo name. For instance, with Sawi/Nandi Zulu, Sawi is the Mars name, and Nandi Zulu the Vizargo name.
A note on acknowledgments: If I link to someone’s Web site or e-mail address, it means they’re still active in Mondo trading (as far as I know), and I would be willing to deal with them again. Someone whose name is not linked but is in bold is a person who is no longer actively trading (as far as I can tell), but with whom I would be willing to deal again or recommend to others should they decide to resume trading. Finally, someone whose name is neither linked nor in bold is a person, persons or business with whom I may have traded in the past, but for one reason or another would not do so again in the future. Nor would I recommend that person, persons or business to others, notwithstanding my acknowledgment of them as a source for one or more Mondos on the following pages.
