Hello.  My name is Megan Tatman.  I am a junior at the University of Texas at Austin.  I am double majoring in Spanish and Government.  I am also seeking a secondary teacher certification through UTeach, Liberal Arts.  This semester I will be working with students and teachers  at   Crockett High School   as part of the UTeach program.  Here is a little bit about my life.  I work at a great little restuarant, the Stone House Grill  I'm there almost every Friday and Saturday night so come on by.  I also attend Parker Lane United Methodist Church.

Hobbies and Interests
Every year my friends and I play on an Intramural floor hockey team.  We actually won the championship last year!  I also have been riding horses since I was twelve.  I used to show hunters and jumpers and I still love to, although I'm a little short on time and funds now that I'm in college.  I also really enjoy travelling.  In the summer of 1998 I spent three weeks travelling around Brazil.  And, of course, one of my favorite pastimes is watching UT football.  Hook'em Horns!  Last but not least, my sister and I have just begun training for the  Danskin Triathalon which we will participate in this June.  Take a look at my hobbies here.

My Family
I grew up in Dallas, Texas with my mom, dad, brother, and sister.  My younger brother, Denver, is a senior in high school up in Dallas.  My older sister,Katie, is a graduate student here at UT.  My family has three dogs, Sam, Seymore, and Sparky.  Seymore lives down here in Austin with me.  Other than that, my family is really small.  I have an aunt and uncle who live in California with my precious cousins, John Paul and Kelly who are three and one, respectively.  That’s about it.  Look at some pictures of my family

Venezuela
Last summer I studied abroad in Merida, Venezuela.  I spent six weeks taking classes at a language institute there and travelling all over on my long weekends.  After about five weeks I realized that Venezuela was way too great to leave so soon.  I got a job teaching English to Venezuelans and got to stay an extra month and a half.  It was definately the best three months of my life.  I was able to travel to four different Caribbean beaches, ride horses through the Venezuelan plains, whitewater raft, repel down waterfalls, hike through the Andes mountains and much more.  It was amazing.  Although pictures could never do it justice, here are a few that just begin to show you how beautiful  Venezuela is.
