Dioramic Shadowboxes
Dioramic Shadowboxes are artistic renderings and designs sealed behind glass and wooden frame. These can be Corporate Logos, Family Crests, designs chosen with colors necessary to tie together various environments, or designs chosen for their shapes and geometry. Fashioned with the highest quality fabrics (velvets, silks, metallic prints, jacquards, tapestry, etc.), these art forms combine mood, ambiance and technology to enhance any Boardroom, Conference Center, Reception area, Hallway, Living Room, or Foyer.

Starting with the background layer, which is referred to as the “Model”, certain aspects of that model (be it a central design or color) are brought to life in a 3 dimensional manner by subsequent layers of additional shapes/fabrics and/or colors that either compliment or contrast the “model”. Objects (shapes) can intersect or overpass these layers in a continuous fluid motion, providing harmony and balance within the confines of the shadowbox. Great length is taken to assign symmetry within these different layers, but sometimes a client wants a design that exudes tumult, balanced by fluidity. Many times, as mentioned before, various colors may exist in the surrounding environment, and these colors are represented within the “model” and the first layer. The second layer’s position is then, to achieve “harmony” between all these colors by adding a color theme that pleases the eye and promotes tranquility within that environment. Sometimes it takes an additional layer to do this. Nothing is outside of the realm of our possibilities, given your input as to your environment and your willingness to create this “tranquility”.
Of course, we can grow from there. Our Dioramic shadowboxes come in several "standard sizes. 12" X 12" X 3", 20" X 20" X 4", 20" X 60" X 4", 30” X 30” X 4”, and 30” X 60” X 4”. We can, however, produce a product for you on a custom basis to your specifications. Upon your choice, we offer a "split” version of these single units into three contiguous units that continue the symmetry from one unit to another. We can also modify the structure of the frame to allow ¼ to ½ of the depth dimension to be recessed into the wall, and even add an inch of depth (if allowable) to create even more depth perception and space availability for more layers. Shadowboxes
For those of you that want a Shadowbox of a particular size and depth, Montana Boxmakers offers these to you. As always, we build each unit on a custom basis, providing you with exactly what you need and desire, with all sorts of options, styles and finishes available. Shadowboxes are similar to Display cases except that shadowboxes are accessed from the rear of the unit rather than through a door on the front. This is ideal for individuals that want to mount items of value on a semi-permanent basis.
Shadowboxes are excellent for items such as trinkets, Baptismal and Christening gowns, Baby’s first shoes, Cowboy hats, antique firearms, swords, documents, Authentic Sports Jerseys, musical instruments and just about anything you would like to protect, display and share with others!
